Jilianne helped me build confidence working with a very smart and needy border collie, Dolce. I joined a home where Dolce has a really strong bond with her original handler and I was at a loss trying to navigate my relationship with her. Jilianne, with her deep understanding of dog psychology and the needs of intelligent dogs, showed me how to set boundaries and build trust with Dolce. Our relationship went from demanding behavior inside the house to calmness and our once anxiety-ridden walks continue to grow in trust and deepen our bond. Jilianne gave us very helpful homework and handouts every week to keep us working on our growing edges and building jobs and games to keep Dolce busy at home. I appreciate her direct communication style, addressing my weaknesses as a handler, coupled with an encouraging attitude and positive point of view. Jilianne was an amazing coach for me and my German Shepherd, Honey. In just a few weeks she was able to help me gain leash control and find him a daily job to do using scent training and decoys. I've always considered myself a dog person, but truly understanding dogs, their dynamics, and how they communicate, turned out to be a whole different thing once I owned my own.
