Lifetime dog dad & sitter
I’ve adored dogs my entire life. I was actually the only kid in my family who successfully begged my parents into getting one! Since then, dogs have been an integral part of my life. I grew up with a German Shepherd, Rouby, and later adopted Radar, my Great Dane/Husky mix, who was my constant companion through college and grad school. Having lost Radar this past Feb., I really miss the daily routine, walks, and presence of having a canine around. I regularly watch my friends' dogs when they head out of town, but I'm on Rover to meet even more local pups and help out nearby owners. I live in a cozy apartment right in Capitol Hill and love taking dogs out for long walks around the neighborhood. Because I work with one client at a time, your dog will get full 1-on-1 attention, plenty of affection, and a comfortable, quiet place to relax. I'm comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes, from gentle giants to small pups. I’d love to host your furry companion for a stay or take them out on a walk!

James was an excellent sitter for Sugaree. I was gone for two weeks and had to make a few adjustments to the drop off and pick up time and he was very accommodating in that regard. He sent me lots of pictures and messages of them out, walking and running and kept me informed of what was going on with her the whole time. He followed specific instructions for administering specific dietary supplements and was just a great sitter that I trust, would definitely use again and highly recommend. Thank you, James!
James did an excellent job caring for dog! He did an excellent job of giving her lots of attention and outdoors time, which my dog loves.
James was wonderful with my cat, Ziggy! He has looked after Ziggy while I’ve been out of town and is very communicative throughout and kept me updated, which gave me great peace of mind. My cat is disabled, and James was especially attentive to his needs and made sure he was well cared for. I would definitely recommend James to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and attentive to look after their pet on Rover
James is always our first call for animal care. I have always been impressed by James' work ethic and love for animals. Weather has never stopped him from prioritizing a dog's walk. Whether it is raining, snowing, and/or sunny James always makes sure dogs get their full walk and any attention they may need. He has always been flexible and easy to communicate with. He radiates kindness and love and is so welcoming and nurturing towards not only to dogs but other animals and humans. He has a wide range of experience looking after puppies to taking special care of senior dogs. He has always made sure to show special individual care to all of our pets (dog, cat, bunny, rat, guinea pig, fish, turtle, praying mantis and bird). He's not afraid of accidents or cleaning up from dogs mishaps. He has never had a hard time understanding unique ways to care for our pets or get them to eat or take their medicine. Would highly recommend hiring James for any of your pet needs. He will make sure they are well adored and cared for just as you would yourself! You can't go wrong.
I highly recommend James as a responsible and loving pet caregiver. He is prompt, communicative, safe and extremely friendly. He LOVES animals. He loves going on long walks/ hikes/ adventures with dogs. He has provided around the clock medical care for animals on multiple occasions. He is trustworthy and overall would be a wonderful caregiver for your pet :)

I’m currently employed by the Quileute Tribe working as a Natural Resources Planner. Working from home, my schedule is very flexible for long walks and doggy visits.

I have a fenced in porch and a 1 bedroom apartment in the heart of Capitol Hill near the light rail station. Your pup is welcome on my couch, to hang on Radar’s dog bed on the porch, or sleep and relax in my bedroom.
