In a client’s home, I would follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, fresh water, litter box cleaning, and any other routines the pet is used to. I would also make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and supervision so they feel secure while their owner is away. No matter the setting, I pay attention to each pet’s personality and needs, because some pets want lots of play and interaction while others need a gentler, quieter approach. I would want to know their feeding schedule, walking routine, energy level, favorite activities, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. It is also helpful to know how they act around other dogs, new people, loud noises, or being left alone. For both dogs and cats, I would also want to know about any medications, health concerns, allergies, potty or litter box habits, and any behaviors the owner wants me to be aware of. I know every pet is different, so the more I understand ahead of time, the better I can make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for.
A typical day
A typical day with the pets I watch would be centered around keeping them happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine. For dogs, that would usually include potty breaks, walks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, and lots of attention and affection. I would make sure they get the right balance of activity and rest depending on their age, energy level, and personality. For cats, I would make sure they are fed, have fresh water, a clean litter box, and attention on their terms, whether that means playtime, company, or just a calm presence nearby. For fun activities, I would tailor everything to the pet. With dogs, that could include walks, playtime with toys, fetch, lots of pets and cuddles, and time outside getting energy out. If they are more relaxed or older, I would keep things gentler and focus on comfort, companionship, and a slower pace. With cats, fun activities could include interactive toys, play sessions, brushing if they enjoy it, and cuddle time when they want affection. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, entertained, and as stress-free as possible while their owner is away.

What sets me apart is my hands-on experience with dogs of very different sizes, ages, and needs. I have three dogs of my own, including two small poodle-Lhasa Apso mixes and one large 100-pound dog, so I am very comfortable caring for both small and large breeds. I also have experience with senior care because one of my dogs is 14, which has taught me to be patient, gentle, and attentive to changes in comfort, energy, and routine. I understand that every dog is different, and I make sure to adjust my care to what helps each dog feel safe, relaxed, and loved. I am reliable, observant, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, and I would treat every pet with the same care and attention I give my own.
