During the summer, I have very open, flexible availability. I do have Wednesday's 12-2pm and Fridays 2pm reserved for repeat clients! I am currently a full time college student at RCNJ and mainly have classes next semester between 1-5pm with thursdays off! I have open weekend availability as well and am willing to be flexible to fit you and your pets needs!

For drop-ins and walks, I focus on keeping your pet happy, active, and comfortable in their own space. During drop-in visits, I’ll make sure they’re fed, have fresh water, get bathroom breaks, and of course, plenty of love and attention. I can also give meds if needed and clean up any messes (like litter boxes or puppy pads). For walks, I’ll stick to their usual pace and route, or we can switch it up for some extra fun! I always make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and looked after like they’re my own.

Please let me know ahead of time your pets behavior patterns that I should be aware of, as well as if they have any special or specific needs. I love to know the pets typical routine to ensure they are comfortable, anything from their favorite toy to preferred petting spot :)

Pet care experience
Hello all! My name is Emma Degenaars and i’m currently a student at RCNJ studying biology on the pre vet track, as well as earning my vet tech degree on the side! I’ve always been an animal lover since a young age, and have had countless pets ranging from your typical cat and dog to mice and bunnies! I currently have my own cat who I am independently responsible for, but also take care of my other pets to help out my family! I’ve been dog walking and pet sitting for around 9 years now! Throughout my time, i’ve gained strong skills in keeping up with routines, feedings, enrichment of all kinds, cleaning up any accidents, and handling animals with special needs and different temperaments. Alongside pet care, I have over 3 years experience of volunteering in shelters with cats, dogs, and exotics. At the shelter I gained skills such as medication administration, socialization of feral animals, doing basic health checkups, and helping our furry friends find their forever homes! I am also currently an intern at a local farm sanctuary where I work with animals such as horses, cows, pigs, squirrels, goats, sheep and much more! I have experience in dogs ranging from as small as a chihuahua to as large as a cane corso and rottweilers! I am also able to keep pace low energy or super high energy dogs! I enjoy long walks, hikes, playtime, and providing enrichment to help our furry friends stay calm and happy. I gained my pet CPR and first aid certification last year to always be prepared!

Emma was wonderful! We were nervous leaving our boy but I felt so great knowing he was in Emma’s care. She was able to help fill in for some last minute feedings/visits. She’s so responsible and communicative and our little guy was well taken care of! We really appreciate the communication and updates with pictures. We can’t thank her enough!

Emma was absolutely terrific with our cat Chi-Chi, who can be very standoffish with unfamiliar faces at first. Everything went smoothly with the schedule, and she went above and beyond, spending quality time playing with Chi-Chi. I highly recommend Emma; she is extremely punctual, professional, and will definitely be our first choice the next time we are out of town. She's definitely worthy of a five-star rating.
