Hello all! My name is Emma Degenaars and i’m currently a student at RCNJ studying biology on the pre vet track, as well as earning my vet tech degree on the side! I’ve always been an animal lover since a young age, and have had countless pets ranging from your typical cat and dog to mice and bunnies! I currently have my own cat who I am independently responsible for, but also take care of my other pets to help out my family! I’m a cat lover who specializes in cat drop ins! I am able to work with cats of all temperaments with 2 years of experience working in a feral cat shelter. I’ve always had a cat (or two) in the house, so I totally get their unique personalities, from the cuddly lap cats to the more independent types. I have lots of experience in feeding, cleaning litter boxes, socialization, and medication administration. I also currently volunteer at a cat sanctuary where I work with cats of all temperaments and have experience doing drop ins for all types of cats. I know how important routine and a calm environment are for cats, and I’ll make sure yours feels safe, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away. I am also currently an intern at a local farm sanctuary where I work with animals such as horses, cows, pigs, squirrels, goats, sheep and much more! I gained my pet CPR and first aid certification last year to always be prepared!

For drop-ins and walks, I focus on keeping your pet happy, active, and comfortable in their own space. During drop-in visits, I’ll make sure they’re fed, have fresh water, get bathroom breaks, and of course, plenty of love and attention. I can also give meds if needed and clean up any messes (like litter boxes or puppy pads). For walks, I’ll stick to their usual pace and route, or we can switch it up for some extra fun! I always make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and looked after like they’re my own.

Emma was great! She took such great care of Freyja while we were away. It was her birthday while we were gone and Emma spent extra time with her and got her a present. We will definitely rebook Emma when we travel!
Emma took very good care of my cat, Cactus. She played with him gave him pets and treats, and sent me a nice report each day with fun pictures. Without a doubt, Emma is a caring cat (pet) lover and most reliable. Cactus was very well cared for with Emma - he was in good hands. Thanks so much!
Emma was wonderful! We were nervous leaving our boy but I felt so great knowing he was in Emma’s care. She was able to help fill in for some last minute feedings/visits. She’s so responsible and communicative and our little guy was well taken care of! We really appreciate the communication and updates with pictures. We can’t thank her enough!

Emma was absolutely terrific with our cat Chi-Chi, who can be very standoffish with unfamiliar faces at first. Everything went smoothly with the schedule, and she went above and beyond, spending quality time playing with Chi-Chi. I highly recommend Emma; she is extremely punctual, professional, and will definitely be our first choice the next time we are out of town. She's definitely worthy of a five-star rating.
Emma is very sweet and attentive to my girl Blu♥️ so glad we found her!

Zeitplan
During the summer, I have very open, flexible availability. I do have Wednesday's 12-2pm and Fridays 2pm reserved for repeat clients! I am currently a full time college student at RCNJ and mainly have classes next semester between 1-5pm with thursdays off! I have open weekend availability as well and am willing to be flexible to fit you and your pets needs!
