Pet care experience

"Puppy Breath" by Calvin Klein

My Golden Lab, Grace, was my best friend. She escaped from a puppy mill at 3 months old and I had her ever since. Dogs offer such unconditional love and the chance to repay that even a little bit is rewarding. I work full time in mental health close to home. I have a flexible schedule that allows me a lot of free time and the ability to make my own schedule. I love reading, writing, cooking and exploring my new city I now call home. I'm also experienced in taking care of bunnies as well and have sat over 10 clients. I love chilling with them while reading! I mean, it’s a fact that floppy bunny ears are the cutest thing ever, right? I think Bill Nye the Science Guy taught me that. My experience with pets over the years has taught me that they often act out when they don’t feel comfortable. They also sometimes show aggression or fear in new circumstances. This is all totally normal! My first focus is always allowing a visiting pooch to scope out the place at their own pace without any distractions. This allows them to feel as comfortable as possible. I stay close and keep a special eye on them in case they’re telling me with body language that they’re upset, scared, hungry or just want some outside time! I learned from Grace that all animals deserve compassion and understanding and they’ll feel loved and understood. I would love the chance to provide a home-away-from-home for your doggie that they will love to return to each time you’re away!

Zo clearly loves her time with Emily, and seemed to be relaxed and calm throughout her stay. Would recommend Emily to anyone needing senior dog care!

Emily's fantastic :) my dog Diego is pretty nervous and shy with new people, and this was his first stay since covid. It only took him a day to warm up and he was friends with everyone :) I'm so grateful.

We made a last minute request, and Emily was very accommodating of us. I really appreciate her last minute acceptance of our dog, and her great communication!

I was totally at ease with my dog staying with Emily and her dog Grace. I got daily pictures and updates. She also took my dog to the dog park nearby almost everyday, which my dog loved! We were very happy with my dog’s stay and would not hesitate to use Emily as a dog sitter again.

Emily was so wonderful! She was kind and instantly took to my cat, Athena. She sent fun updates every day and was totally able to respond to unexpected situations (like when the cat literally tore open the treat bag!)

Pets

A typical day

I work at home a lot so I love to give frequent walks and then come home and snuggle up or play. I live in a residential neighborhood with tons of parks and beautiful neighborhoods to walk through. I love to take Grace on long walks around the city and would love extra animal company!

I want to know the good, bad, and ugly! Do they have any triggers, fears, phobias or anxieties? Do they love a belly rub or does it scare the daylights out of them? Do they chew on shoes when they’re lonely or poop on the rug when they’re mad? As a foodie, I know most doggies love a good treat — so I also want to know their favorite guilty pleasure.
