I am committed to caring for animals, this is my full time job and I absolutely love it. So far the longest I’ve pet sat for was 2-3 weeks, after long stretches of time like that I like to take a few days off in between clients to recharge. Other than that, I rarely go on vacation and have plenty of availability.

While caring for pets inside a clients home, I keep things clean and well organized, all animals deserve a functional environment to live in. Being respectful of my clients living space is a must, I understand how it can be uncomfortable having someone stay long periods of time, which is why I try to provide peace of mind with constant updates while I’m pet sitting. Owners deserve to know how their beloved pet is doing, regular text updates and pictures are a must. I always leave a clients home exactly as it was.

A typical day
I love to enrich the lives of the pets I care for, enrichment is mandatory in my opinion. Regardless of species, all animals deserve to have mental and physical exercise consistently. I use a variety of methods, some at home enrichment like, lick mats, frozen kongs, snuffle mats, a variety of chews, indoor searching games, puzzles etc. Outdoor activities are also a priority, mainly for dogs but harness trained cats can participate too. To give your animal the best life possible, I believe they should be exercising their nature instincts and exploring the world.

I’m 19 years old and currently in school, my goal is to work with animals full time after gaining my credentials. I’ve been studying animals since I was able to read, it’s my one true passion in life and I take it very seriously. I have about 6 years of experience, handling domestic and exotic pets, housesitting, walking, hiking and training services. I work hard to keep my knowledge up to date, mostly focusing on canines and felines but I have prior experience with exotics, I love all animals and strive to provide the best possible care for them. I’m always happy to create personalized schedules and care plans for your individual pet, each animal is unique and I enjoy taking on challenges. I have had plenty of past experience handling large dogs, reactive dogs, puppies, seniors, rescues etc, some animals can be a handful but I’m prepared and willing to work with them. I use a positive reinforcement training approach and I prefer to move slowly to ensure I’ve gained trust, patience is key. I prefer to keep a steady routine while pet sitting, domestic animals can easily become stressed while their owner is gone, I find keeping things predictable eases their anxiety. Since this is my job and priority, I put all of my time and effort into improving my animal care, working with owners provides valuable insight.

I left my dog Riley in Emery’s care at my house for two weeks. I will admit I was a little nervous at first because Emery is on the younger side and I had never used Rover before. My nerves settled after we met prior to the pet sitting service. She has a way with dogs and putting them at ease. Riley liked her immediately and I was impressed with her level of maturity and thoughtful questions she asked. Once away, I received daily text updates with photos. By day two Riley (who sleeps in bed with me) was nestled into the covers with Emery and I was totally relaxed knowing she was in great hands. Emery cared for her like she was her own and communicated regularly about their adventures together. She even spoiled Riley with a few new toys, which she absolutely loves! I would 100 percent hire Emery again and recommend her to others looking for pet sitting! Thank you, Emery!!
