I left a very hectic job as an ICU nurse, and now work outside of the hospital as a case manager. I make my own schedule and have the flexibility to spend quality time with your fur baby- morning, noon, or night. I have weekends and holidays free as well, and I'd be glad to spend that time doting on your kiddos.

I meet with you ahead of time to discuss and understand your needs, as every pet and home is unique. I make notes to ensure I'm catching every detail, and I treat your home with the level of respect and care as if it were my own. I take this job as seriously as my primary job- I will show up when you expect me and will stay as long as we've agreed on. I understand how stressful traveling feels when you're unsure if you've left your pet and home in good hands. It's my mission to ensure that the pet and home sitting aspect of your trip is the absolute least of your worries. From one traveling pet-owner to another, I've got your back, Jack.

It's important for me to know if there's anything that might be particularly triggering or unsafe for your specific pet: do they slip their collar on walks? Are they aggressive with other dogs, men, children? Are they triggered by loud noises, squirrels, clothing (hats, sunglasses)? Is there any area on their body that is a "no touch zone" or causes pain? Are they on a special diet, or have allergies and/or health conditions? It's also vital that clients are honest with me about aggression, house soiling, and special needs.

Clients and their pets are individuals with unique needs, so there really is no "typical" day for me. I tailor my plan to meet your specific needs, which could include long or short walks, playing fetch, doing tricks, play dates with pet friends, swimming, hiking/nature walks, playing with toys, etc.. There's so many options for providing stimulation and burning energy. And if your pet is not so mobile, that's OK too. My hands were made for belly pats and neck scratches.

I adopted my first dog as a puppy and trained him myself to be gentle, loyal, housebroken, crate-trained, off-leash, and suspiciously understanding of the English language. He had allergies, and as he became an elder dog required daily medications, skin treatments, and a specialized diet. This goodest-boy was the center of my universe until the day he passed away (and he still holds a spot there today). These days my heart belongs to the highest-maintenance cat you've ever heard of, who requires 15 minutes of daily grooming, occasional eye ointment, and a pristine litterbox. Professionally, I have regular clients whose pets demand high attention to detail. This includes a multi-cat household with cats who are all allergic to each other's food and have to be separated while eating. I'm comfortable and skilled at administering medications to even the most hesitant of pets. I have a keen eye for escape artists- your sneaky cat won't get loose on my watch!

Elissa was absolutely wonderful with our pup! From the moment she arrived, it was clear she genuinely cares and takes her role seriously. She followed all of our instructions to a T, was punctual, and treated Minnow with so much love and patience. One of the kindest touches was leaving Minnow with her treat puzzle to help ease her anxiety—something only someone truly thoughtful would do. We fully trust Elissa and are so grateful to have found someone who treats our dog like family. Highly recommend!
