Edith can care for
Availability
I do Pet/House sitting full time now. I can do drop in visits for potty breaks (mostly every 4 hours). I do constant care for special need pets, seniors and/or kittens/pups. For this I prefer to house sit when I can care for your pets 24/7 until your return.

My commitment to the pet/s I care for involves having extensive knowledge of each pet's needs, behavioral patterns, anxieties and fears, their feeding and walking schedules and if needed, any oral medications they might need. For Cats: Ensuring cats/kittens remain indoors safely, unless specifically specified by their parents asking for some outdoor time. For Dogs/puppies: Canines can have outside play time if there is a fenced back yard. Otherwise they will get taken on walks leashed at all times. For all pets, including canines and felines: I will ensure that dietary needs, veterinary needs (if any)potty breaks and play time needs are met according to care instructions by their parents. With my experience owning and working with Working Dogs, I know and understand their high drive and energy levels and we'll play accordingly, within the limits of instructions provided by their parents. It's very important to me that their daily routines are as normal as possible. I can't stress enough the need to stick to the pet parent's care instructions. Pet parents will also receive daily updates and photos while they are away.
Information Edith A. would like to know about your pet
It's crucial for me to know as much as possible about each pet, their likes, their dislikes, what makes them happy, what makes them anxious, the comfy places they like to sleep, the favorite pet parent's t-shirt of hoodie, etc! The most important goal for me is to keep their schedule as normal as possible, and stress levels as low as possible. Honestly I don't think a sitter can ever get enough information, any little detail is important, regardless if it's a healthy pet, a puppy/kitten, a senior and/or special needs pet. I also prefer a meet and greet before any service offered, whether it's drop-in, walkies and/or snuggle time, and for house sitting even the plants will get their care time, lol!
A typical day
First and foremost, I go by what the pet parents requests and requirements are. Play time and enrichment is important, as well as sticking to a normal routine. If there's a back yard we'll go out and play. If not we go for our walks in the neighborhood. I normally do 3 drop-in visits a day but if the pet parents requests more visits, it can be arranged. If I am house sitting, I might add play time and walks with the permission of the pet parents. And then there is snuggle and cuddle time for those pets who love and enjoy it. I can bring in mail, take out trash when on pickup days and water plants in your house or yard.

Pet care experience
I have grown up with and cared for a large variety of pets; dogs, cats, birds, horses and other livestock (goats, bovine, chickens). I enjoy giving love, care and affection to animals in my care like they are my own, it's my every day passion. I love all breeds, no matter how big or small, and I adore seniors! I feel it's very important to do a meet and greet with each pet parent before they leave. This way pets and their parents can meet me, we can introduce ourselves and become familiar and comfortable with each other. I know first hand how stressful it can be when you go out of town and have to leave your pets behind. One of the most important things for me is to follow pet parents' instructions meticulously. Stick to the routines their pets are familiar with, the toys they like to play with the most, treats they enjoy, and in certain cases, the TV shows they enjoy (yes I have had cat parents designate a channel to their kitties). I have experience in Shutzhund training which working dogs and sporting groups use for obedience, tracking and protection. I adopted a Belgian Malinois that was never socialized as a pup, in my opinion one of the cruelest things you can do to any dog breed. She was stranger and dog aggressive and we had to work through a lot of anxiety. She has come a long way in 7 years and is my shadow and guardian. Every pet needs time to adjust and get to know their sitter. Sometimes it can just be sitting with them quietly and allowing them to approach when they feel comfortable and ready. Sometimes it's like having a whirlwind like my Malinois, going outside and playing for a good time. Every pet needs positive enrichment to give them a more colorful day in their world. This is very important to me! Smoke free homes only! I do have Pet Care Insurance!

Reviews
she was great. sent pictures. the doggos were happy and smiling when we got home. will definitely use again.

Thank you so much for today. And I’m leaving you a little extra for taking the time out of your day yesterday to meet us.

Have used Edith a few times and we love that she pays attention to detail and our babies desires. She’s not only so in tune with our Dog Rocco- she cares for our chickens as if they were her own. Also an amazing human being all-around! Thank you again Edith!

Edi was an amazing sitter! This was a first-time experience for my dog Barry with an in-house sitter, and she absolutely spoiled him and went above and beyond to keep him happy. She sent pictures at least once a day with status updates on him, the house, the weather, etc. Communication was great from our first contact until we arrived back home from vacation. This was an overall great experience and I cannot recommend Edi enough!
