*Dogs 50 lbs and over will be considered on a case by case basis for boarding. My dog does not tolerate sustained, rough play from larger dogs over 50 lbs. * On work days I come at lunch for at 30-40 minutes to let dogs out, spend time with pets. I specialize in dogs with anxiety. All of my own previous dogs, including my current dog, have had significant anxiety. I understand and have experience/techniques in dealing with pets with anxiety. That being said, please be up front and honest about ALL behaviors/concerns, especially aggression and excessive barking! I have neighbors on the top floor of the house and I cannot have dogs that consistently/excessively bark for long periods. I have had dogs of my own for over 28 years now, as well as many other types of pets. I have always been an animal lover, particularly dogs. My friends always call me when they have issues or questions about their dogs and I have been known to stop my car and help any animal in need! I'm a teacher and I have also rescued many animals at school. I took a break from boarding between July, 2020 and now because I had been living in a small one bedroom apartment, but I have since moved and can now accommodate pet sitting needs. I currently rent the bottom floor of a house in Collingswood, NJ. I do have a fenced in yard, although it is temporary not permanently fixed fencing (I never allow dogs out there by themselves). I walk my dog or dogs I'm watching at least a mile a day (depending on your dog's age/physical activity level. For high energy dogs, I walk Cooper River (abt a 4.5 mile walk total-weather and schedule permitting). My dog is a sweet, mixed breed who get along well with other dogs. She is not territorial and shares her toys and bones willingly. Her name is Aspen and she was highlighted in the monthly Collingswood magazine pet section last year! (see pictures) She easily adapts to other dogs; if they want to play, she will play. If they are older or aren't into playing, she has no problem leaving them alone. A meet and greet is a must prior to sitting your dog. I have experience providing medication and caring for dogs with special needs. Besides meeting great people and animals, my favorite part of being a petsitter is making people feel comfortable and worry-free while away from their much loved pet(s). I know how it feels to leave my dog in the care of someone else! I also care for pets of any kind! I have been a cat owner as well as a rabbit owner and small rodent owner.

Denise kept our Duke for just over a week while we were away on vacation. This was my first time using Rover so I was a bit nervous but Denise walked me through the whole process. She told me all about the process as she’s a pro and made time to meet Duke before our trip. While we were on our trip we got CONSTANT updates and immediate responses when reaching out to check on Duke. She paid close attention to his needs and made sure she immediately expressed any concerns she had with him which I very much appreciated. I wholeheartedly feel like my dog was cared for exactly how she cares for her own dog and I will say that is truly invaluable! I know she loved our Duke very much and we will absolutely be booking with Denise in the future. Thank you Denise for taking such good care of my baby!

Denise was super sitter! No matter if there was a dilemma, Denise was ready to help in any way. We had to tackle on extra visits the day before we left, and she was able to accommodate us. 5 stars!

Denise was so great with taking care of my cat, Sushi! She made me feel comfortable leaving my cat alone all week and having her come to my home, something I did not think I would be comfortable doing. Denise was kind and gave Sushi a lot of attention and sent me photos everyday to keep in touch and make me feel better! I will definitely be using Denise for all my future pet sitting needs!

Schedule
In the summer I have greater flexibility. I can drop in on a dog or walk a dog during the day or night. During the school year I can also do after school hours and weekends for dog walking.

I am committed to following instructions! I will make sure that even anxious dogs are safe, comfortable and happy. I also have no problem administering medications or whatever is needed. I also try to provide suggestions to an owner about specific observations, concerns, etc. based on my experiences.

A typical day
I will walk dogs, play inside, and fulfill whatever individual needs are requested. I like to feel out the situation to make a dog feel comfortable. When dropping in on cats or other pets, I can do whatever is needed. :)
