Big D Pups is currently operated in a large, 675 sqft, open layout studio apartment, where dogs have absolute free reign. Pups are ensured to always feel at home here and the design of the space reflects this. Concrete floors, open space to run around, multiple soft surfaces to jump on, low covered areas for hiding and chilling, toys toys toys, and lots of towels and blankets to roll around and nest in. Floors are cleaned two times a day and only clean textiles are available for the pups’ use. The apartment building itself is 24/7 full service: elevator, reception, laundry room, communal and enclosed outdoor space, dog loving tenants etc. so incidentals are always covered.

A typical day starts with a morning walk followed immediately by breakfast. Then lots of playtime with other dogs here and the buffet of dog toys available here, cuddle sessions, and naps on me or one of a plethora of dogs beds here. We then take an afternoon walk followed by snack time consisting of health-vetted dog biscuits, peanut butter or sweet potato stuffed Kongs, single ingredient chews, and treat dispenser toys that encourage teamwork and play. After more playtime, cuddles, and naps, we take our last walk in the evening, after which dinner is served. When bedtime arrives, pups have endless choices of surfaces to sleep on: cool concrete floors, sofa, and several different types of dog beds. However, no dog has ever elected to sleep on any of these choices. They much more prefer a slumber party on my bed. Additionally, we sometimes take field trips to friends' backyards, beaches, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. (depending on the number of dogs at the time).
