Pet care is already part of our everyday family routine. I live with my partner, our young son, Pau, and our rescued dog, Capitán, so dogs are naturally included in the rhythm of our home: morning walks, quiet time, meals, rest, play, and evening walks. My partner works from home, which means the dogs are accompanied throughout the day and are not left alone for long periods. We keep our routine calm, predictable and flexible, adapting it to each dog’s age, energy level, personality and needs. For us, caring for pets is not something separate from daily life, it is part of how our home works. Dogs who stay with us become part of our family routine while their humans are away.

Safety, trust & environment

Dogs stay with us inside our home and are part of our daily routine. They can rest in cozy areas, spend time with us, go on walks, and follow their usual habits as much as possible. We keep the environment calm, clean and supervised, and we only accept a small number of dogs at a time to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. Before accepting a new dog, I like to understand their routine, personality, health needs, behaviour around other dogs, feeding schedule, sleep habits, and anything that may cause stress. I usually recommend a meet & greet or a trial stay before longer bookings. During the stay, I send regular updates and photos, and I always communicate honestly if I notice anything important.

Information Daniela P. would like to know about your pet

We share our home with Capitán, our 9-year-old neutered male dog, and our toddler son, Pau. Capitán is sociable with most dogs, but he is not comfortable with unneutered males, flat-faced/brachycephalic dogs or strong bully-type breeds. Because of this, we may not be the right fit for every dog, and I always prefer to be transparent before accepting a stay. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, relaxed and well cared for, and that every dog in the house can enjoy a calm environment.

A typical day

A typical day starts with a long morning walk between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. Depending on the weather, the season and the dog’s needs, we usually walk to Parc de la Ciutadella, the beach or the port area. We look for calm, safe spaces where dogs can explore, sniff, move freely when appropriate, or enjoy a relaxed walk on a long leash. We usually come back home around 11:00 a.m. After that, the dogs have time to rest, drink water, cool down and settle into the rhythm of the house. During the day, they are accompanied, supervised and included in our normal family routine. Around 3:00 p.m., we go out for a shorter walk. Later, around 9:00 p.m., we do one last walk or pee break before bedtime. The length and intensity of each walk depends on the dog. Some dogs need more movement and stimulation, while others prefer slow walks, sniffing time and plenty of rest. I always adapt the day to each dog’s age, energy level, health and personality.

A calm family home for your dog

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Daniela. I’m a veterinarian with over 10 years of experience and a Master’s in Ethology, and I offer calm, home-based dog care in Barcelona. Dogs who stay with us don’t sleep in kennels or cages — they become part of our family routine. They rest on the couch, go on relaxed walks, follow their usual habits as much as possible, and are cared for in a real home environment. I live with my partner, our young son, and our rescued dog, Capi. Because this is our home, we keep things small and personal. We only welcome a limited number of dogs at a time, and we always make sure each dog is a good fit for the space, the routine, and the other dogs staying with us. My background in veterinary medicine and animal behaviour helps me understand each dog’s needs: their stress signals, routines, social preferences, feeding habits, medication if needed, and how to make the stay feel safe and predictable. This is a good fit for dogs who are used to living indoors, enjoy a calm family environment, and feel better in a home than in a traditional boarding facility. Before longer stays, I usually recommend a meet & greet or a short trial so we can make sure everyone feels comfortable. I can help with: • Overnight boarding at our home • Day care • Walks • Home visits for cats • Basic routine care and updates while you’re away You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and honest communication throughout the stay, so you can travel knowing your dog is cared for with attention, experience, and affection.
