Pet care experience

Animal rehabilitator

My name is Dakota and I am 34years old and I have been taking care of animals for over 16 years. I currently work full time as a boarding director/manager for a dog daycare/boarding facility. I have worked at a cat adoption agency as well as a dog shelter and volunteered at an animal rescue farm where we recused and rehomed all animal types. I have rescued and rehabilitated all types of animals from pigs, Rabbits, squirrels, opossums, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, ferrets and birds. I have cared for all types of animals except snakes. I have extensive knowledge on animal care, behavioral health, training and medicine administration. Animals are my life, and all animals are treated as family in my home. When your pet stays in my home they are treated with love and respect and become part of the family so that they are always welcome here anytime. I like to make sure the owners have nothing to worry about while they are away.

During the summer, I went on vacation out of the country for a week. Though it was tough being away from Yuna, she was left in very good hands with Dakota. To ease my mind he kept in frequent contact with me while away. Upon my return I could tell Yuna had warmed up to Dakota quite nicely. He also cared for our parakeets and bunny while away. I will keep him in mind Everytime I travel.

Let me start with i was skeptical about using rover to begin with. I was very scared to leave my fur-baby in the care of a stranger. But this man took my dog into his home and made him family. Max had so much fun that he was genuinely sad to leave. Dakota didnt just watch Max, he cared about him. From his dry skin to his new favorite treats. I will be requesting Dakota EVERY time i go out of state and will be reccomending him to everyone i know that needs a sitter. We couldnt be happier. Thank you, Dakota.

Dakota cared for Nero as if his own. I would use his services again when needed.

A typical day

I like to take dogs that stay with me on a walk everyday. This helps the dogs to stay active and is a great distraction from them being away from mom and dad. Exercise is important in the health of a dog.
