Hi, I’m Daf, a dog lover and aspiring dog photographer based in Essex. I’m a calm, reliable sitter who focuses on making dogs feel safe and settled, whether that’s through regular walks, drop ins, or staying with them in their own home. I’m happy to fit around your dog’s routine as much as possible, especially for pets who benefit from consistency. I offer walks, drop ins and house sitting, and I’ll always confirm timings in advance so you know exactly what to expect. If you’d like multiple visits per day or specific walk times, I’m happy to arrange that too. I don’t offer boarding at this time.

Safety, trust & environment

I will always look to care for each pet according to their needs and follow their routine closely (food, walks, play and house rules). I’m calm, patient, and focused on safety. I’m big on clear communication, so you’ll always get updates (and the occasional great photo!). I have also completed a dog first aid training course and will always carry a dog first aid kit with me for visits and walks.

Information Dafydd S. would like to know about your pet

Before I meet a dog, it’s really helpful to know a few key things in advance so I can keep them comfortable and safe straight away. Things like their usual routine (feeding, walks, toilet breaks), any health issues or oral medication, and whether they have any anxieties or triggers. I also like to know what they’re like on walks, for example if they pull on the lead, react to other dogs, or need to stay on lead at all times. And lastly the practical bits, like where food/leads are kept, what treats are allowed, any house rules, plus emergency details like your vet and the best contact number while you’re away.

A typical day

If I’m taking them out for a walk, I’m a big fan of letting dogs enjoy the walk properly rather than rushing it. Lots of sniffing, letting them take in the world, and keeping things relaxed. I’ll always match the walk to the dog, so for higher energy dogs we can do a more active walk with a bit of play if the space is suitable, and for older dogs or dogs that just prefer a quieter pace I’m more than happy to do a gentler stroll and keep things calm and steady.

Pet care experience

I’m an experienced dog owner and volunteer, offering calm and reliable care through walks, drop ins and house sitting. I’m a Samoyed owner (Luna) and I understand how important routine, reassurance and safe handling are. I’ve also supported Essex Therapy Dogs and The Cinnamon Trust for a number of years, so I’m comfortable caring for different personalities and needs, including dogs who benefit from a gentler approach. I’m happy to help with: > dog walks (different sizes and energy levels) > drop ins for food, water, toilet breaks and play > house sitting so pets stay relaxed in their own home I’ve completed a dog first aid training course and carry a dog first aid kit on walks and visits. I also have been enhanced DBS checked through my volunteering roles.

Very professional service. Asked relevant questions regarding our dog and bonded instantly with him.

Dafydd took wonderful care of our samoyed, Mila, treating her like his own, when we were away for a week earlier this year. Mila loved her stay with Dafydd and we were provided with daily updates of her time there. We could see that Dafydd is great with dogs, very patient and considerate of their unique quirks. He is an excellent photographer as well!

Dafydd has looked after our dog Stan and taken him on many walks. He might actually be Stan’s favourite person (which is mildly upsetting!). Dafydd is reliable, caring, and always respects Stan’s routines, diet restrictions, and boundaries. We trust him completely.
