Hello there, what a pleasure to have you! My name is Colleen. Animals have been the center of my world for as far back as I can remember. That being around age 7, happily obliging to be the primary caregiver of our family Parolette and Conure. As I grew into my teens, I began to volunteer at my local SPCA. Every day after school, I spent time handling displaced dogs and cats of multiple temperaments. Gaining trust with patience and learning how to work with various breeds of all ages. After 3 years of volunteering, I took on a new experience working at an animal sanctuary. There, I took care of many rescued farm animals ranging from cows and pigs to chickens and rabbits. I spent most of my days helping administer medical care to those who needed it, with the guidance of traveling veterinarians. I knew I had found my calling. After a year of work, I landed a job as a veterinary technician at a dog and cat based hospital. I have gained 4 years experience in nail trims, injections, and giving oral medications. I am currently the proud mom of a rescued 12 year old spunky chihuahua mix named Lilly, as well as a silly loveable 8 year old chinchilla named Tucker. I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in Zoology. Hoping to one day make an impact on the way we handle animal welfare and rehabilitation efforts.
