I’ve had cats/kittens continuously throughout my life and dogs/puppies continuously since my teenage years. As a kid I kept fish, reptiles, and amphibians. In my adolescence I had a dog walking and pet sitting business (records, marketing and all) caring for cats, dogs, rodents, and birds. I also spent my summers at a ranch getting accustomed to tending to all kinds of livestock. Then in high school I joined FFA and raised lamb. Through college I started working at a horse ranch that also keeps various other livestock. Currently, I myself have a horse, a couple sheep, and 2 cats.

I’m highly communicative and have a high attention to detail, so whatever specific needs or special instructions you have will be followed just as they are given. I have a quiet, calm, grounded demeanor that makes shy animals feel comfortable and at ease but I have plenty of energy to play with the party animals too! Have a dog that needs running instead of just a walk? I can do that also! I have two children (age 10 and 2) who love animals and are very gentle. If your animal loves kids then they would love to come along with me and give your animals some extra attention too. My limitations on species/types of animals are: no scorpions or tarantulas, or anything venomous no illegal exotics I will feed but not directly handle rams, bulls, boars, and stallions. This is only the second time we have left our senior pup with a caretaker. We never had to worry about her; Colleen kept in regular contact with texts. When she arrived and left the house, what they did, and even a list of number of pees and poops (!). Our dog had some expected accidents in the house and Colleen just dealt with them without complaint. Colleen made sure we had photos so we could see our pet was thriving and happy. Also, thank you Rover for your professional service.

Colleen is one of the kindest, most responsible people I know! I have firsthand watched them care for their animals, children, and friends with the utmost love and consideration. Colleen is well versed in taking care of many types of animals— even those with special needs! They prioritize communication ahead of time to ensure your animals are well taken care of, and to give you the break you’re traveling for. Colleen will care for your animals as if they are their own!
Colleen has cared for our cats a bunch of times. Very knowledgeable, experienced, careful and detail oriented. Our oldest cat is very shy and high anxiety but Colleen has a calm energy and demeanor she likes. Your animal will be in good hands.
Some of my favorite things about Colleen are that she is kind, loving, a great communicator, always on time, extremely thoughtful, and that we know our dog is safe and loved with her. I appreciate that she has a lot of experience and works well with our dog who is getting older and is dog-on-dog aggressive. She is one of the very few people we feel safe and comfortable walking our dog in public. Colleen is also very detail-oriented and I trust her to make sure everything is taken care of. A special side-bonus for our family is that Colleen also has a wide-variety of both home and ranch animal experience, so that means she can also take care of our horse, including medications, turnout, exercising, feeding, and more.
I highly recommend Colleen! They are dependable, have quite a bit of experience with multiple types of animals and have excellent animal handling skills. You will be very happy with the level of care your animals receive!

Programa
My other job is at a college so my schedule changes by semester. For the summer, I’m working 2 days a week which leaves early mornings, evenings, and the other 5 days a week flexible to meet your needs.
