I’m currently a PhD student, which gives me a very flexible schedule, and I do most of my work from home. This allows me to spend plenty of time with pets throughout the day and easily fit walks, drop-in visits, playtime, and feeding into my routine. During the summer, I don’t have teaching responsibilities, so my availability is especially flexible. During the academic year, I’m generally flexible most days of the week, with Thursdays and Fridays being my busier days. I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits your pet’s usual routine.

I provide care in my clients’ homes, where I do my best to keep each pet’s routine as familiar and consistent as possible. I carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, litter box care, medications, and any other specific needs your pet may have. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, so I always adjust my care to what makes them most comfortable. Whether your pet loves attention and playtime or prefers a little more space, I’ll respect their boundaries and make sure they feel safe and cared for in their own environment. I’ll also keep you updated while you’re away so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and doing well.

A typical day
Every pet is different, so I like to plan activities based on their personality, energy level, and usual routine. For cats, I love spending time playing with their favorite toys or simply keeping them company if they prefer a quieter day. For dogs, I enjoy going on walks, playing fetch, and spending plenty of time outside. For active dogs who enjoy longer adventures, I’m also happy to go on hikes. For lower-energy or older pets, I’m just as happy to slow things down and give them plenty of attention and companionship at home.

I’ve been around animals for most of my life. I grew up with a family dog and was involved in his daily care and training, including potty training, basic commands, and helping him manage separation anxiety. That experience taught me a lot about being patient, consistent, and attentive to a dog’s individual needs and behavior. I currently have four cats of my own and previously cared for a rabbit for four years. I’m very comfortable with the everyday responsibilities of pet care, including feeding, cleaning, playtime, and keeping up with each pet’s individual routine. I also successfully litter-trained my rabbit. I’ve also cared for dogs for friends, including a Border Collie, German Shepherd, and Pit Bull, so I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve helped with basic training as well, including potty training and crate training. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s usual routine and any specific instructions you provide. I want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owner is away.
