Hello! My name is Carney Anne and I am a career animal protection attorney, animal law professor, and media consultant for outlets like Nat Geo. I am also a professor at Dillard University. I recently completed a research fellowship in animal law at Harvard - can you tell I LOVE animals?! I grew up in California around horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters - so I have been caring for animals in my life for 40 years! My love for animals drove me to pursue a legal career standing up for them when they are mistreated. I have three rescued dogs, Monza, Pedro, and Sherlock, and recently my two seniors (who were both 17) crossed rainbow bridge. In my house, we don't see animals as "pets" - we see them as companions who have their own unique personalities, needs, and characteristics that should be catered to and respected. I have two sons, ages 16 and 12, who are turning into mini animal experts in their own right.
