Animal Protection Attorney & Expert
Hello! My name is Carney Anne and I am a career animal protection attorney, animal law professor, and media consultant for outlets like Nat Geo. I am also a professor at Dillard University. I recently completed a research fellowship in animal law at Harvard - can you tell I LOVE animals?! I grew up in California around horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters - so I have been caring for animals in my life for 40 years! My love for animals drove me to pursue a legal career standing up for them when they are mistreated. I have three rescued dogs, Monza, Pedro, and Sherlock, and recently my two seniors (who were both 17) crossed rainbow bridge. I would love to be the person you trust with your fur babies when you travel! In my house, we don't see animals as "pets" - we see them as companions who have their own unique personalities, needs, and characteristics that should be catered to and respected. I have two sons, ages 16 and 12, who are turning into mini animal experts in their own right. We absolutely love animals and, if you're looking for someone who will play with and love on your furry family member(s) the way you do, then you've found the right person!

Carney Anne was phenomenal with our Rogue girl - even getting her to eat a bit while we were out of town (which is unusual for Rogue when in a new place). During Rogue’s stay, Carney Anne shared photos of Rogue enjoying walks, cuddles, and even a soccer game with another pup that was also staying. We will definitely book with Carney Anne again in the future!

I cannot begin to say how much of a lifesaver Carney Anne was when she helped take care of our very high energy Golden Retriever on short notice for a military TDY. He was well cared for, provided plenty of updates and pictures and integrated well into her own group of dogs. Thank you so much!

I am a professor and independent legal consultant (my animal law expertise is in Endangered Species Act and Animal Welfare Act), which means I have a lot of flexibility to spend time with your pup, take them for walkies, play with them in my fenced back yard, or even take them for leashed adventures with my dogs to get pup cups at Tulane.

I have a large fenced yard and three young, active dogs who would be happy to play with your pup or respect their space if that's what they want/need. My young dogs are used to sharing their space with two very geriatric dogs (both of whom recently passed away) and are very astute at respecting their elders! We love to go for walks in Audubon Park. We also like to go get pup cups! I am fortunate to have flexibility over my work schedule so you never have to worry about your fur baby being alone all day! Your dog will be welcome to curl up with us wherever we are - there are no off-limits areas in my house!

I love to take my dogs on walks in my neighborhood and on leashed adventures in Couterie Forest in City Park. I also love to take my dogs with me to a coffee shop for a pup cup!
