Availability
I’m fairly flexible this summer since I’m currently in my last semester of nursing school and only working part time as a phlebotomist. I’m available most days and at a variety of times throughout the day for walks or drop-in visits. If your dog does best with a consistent routine or set day each week, I’m happy to accommodate that as well! Weekends can be a little more limited, but feel free to reach out and check my availability.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in your home, my priority is safety, trust, and a calm environment for your dog. I respect your space and privacy and follow all instructions closely, including routines and feeding schedules. I make sure doors are securely locked, leashes are used properly, and your home is kept safe and as I found it. I focus on keeping your pet comfortable and low-stress while you’re away, paying attention to their needs and giving them plenty of care and reassurance. Above all, I treat your home and pet with respect and responsibility, just as I would expect for my own.

Information Carly S. would like to know about your pet
To make sure I can provide the safest and best care for your dog, I like to learn a few key details ahead of time. This can include whether your dog is reactive or has any known triggers, how they do around other dogs and people, and if they have any medical needs, medications, or allergies (including environmental things like certain plants). I also ask about their preferred walking setup, such as leash vs. harness, and any routines or cues they respond well to. The more I know about your dog, the better I can make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and understood during our time together.
A typical day
I tailor each visit to your dog’s individual needs, energy level, and personality. This can include walks to get exercise and mental stimulation, outdoor playtime in a safe environment, or simply spending quiet time together for dogs who prefer a calmer pace. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and reassurance, whether that’s snuggling, companionship, or just being present so they feel comfortable while you’re away. My goal is to keep your dog happy, engaged, and cared for in the way that suits them best.

Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Carly! I’m currently in my last semester of my (second-career) nursing program and spending my summer doing something I genuinely love: spending time with dogs! After losing my sweet 13-year-old dog, I’ve really missed having dogs in my daily life. Rover feels like the perfect way to combine my love for animals, staying active, and helping busy pet parents feel confident their dogs are cared for. I’m dependable, responsible, attentive, and very focused on safety and wellbeing. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I treat every dog with patience, affection, and respect for their unique personality and needs. I’m currently offering dog walks and drop-in visits, and I’d love to help give your dog exercise, companionship, attention, and lots of love while you’re away!
Reviews
Carly is so, so great with our senior golden retriever, Gracie! She stayed in our home for over a week and provided fabulous care not only for Gracie but in our home. She is a gem and I would highly recommend Carly for your pet/house sitting needs!

My Maltese dog immediately liked her. She was great to him. She played with him and allowed him to sleep next to her. My dog seemed very happy on the pictures she sent me. He fell asleep when we got home after a fun day with Carly and her dog. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Carly did great with our dog, cats and fish while we were on vacation! We will definitely call on her again in the future!

Carly was great with our dog Teddy! Teddy is an elderly cockapoo, has limited hearing and vision, and recently came down with vertigo right before our trip. We did not want to take him to the kennel/dog daycare that we used to take him to as the vertigo made it very difficult for him to walk, eat, and was overall a stressful experience for him due to his age-related limitations. He also needed oral medication and eardrops for an ear infection... basically just needed all-around more attention than the kennel would provide. Carly was prompt in her responses, we met up and made the arrangements for house/dog-sitting for the 12 days we'd be gone, and all was set! She gave frequent updates and sent us pictures as well! It gave us such peace of mind that he was in good care at our own home while out of the country! Carly has a clear love for dogs and cared for Teddy as if he was her own, and we will definitely contact her again for our needs!
