Before caring for a pet, it’s important for me to know details that help keep them safe, comfortable, and happy. This includes their daily routine (feeding times, walks, potty schedule, sleep habits), diet and treats, and any medical needs, such as medications, allergies, or health conditions. I also like to know about their behavior and personality/energy level, likes and dislikes, fears (storms, fireworks, strangers), and how they interact with other pets or people. Information about training level, commands they know, leash behavior, and house rules is very helpful, especially for puppies. Additionally, knowing their veterinarian’s information, emergency contacts, and any home specific instructions ensures I can respond quickly if needed. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can provide personalized, stress free care.

I make sure pets stay happy, active, and mentally engaged with activities tailored to their age, energy level, and personality. Fun activities may include daily walks or neighborhood adventures, interactive play like fetch, tug of war, or chase games, and plenty of one on one cuddle time. For mental enrichment, I use puzzle toys, treat games, and basic training reinforcement (especially great for puppies). I also enjoy doing short training refreshers, teaching simple commands, and practicing leash manners. For calmer or senior pets, activities include gentle walks, light play, brushing, massage, and quiet companionship. I always adjust activities to what the pet enjoys most, making sure they’re having fun while staying safe and comfortable.
