I am currently working part-time from home, so I will have plenty of time to look after your pup. I used to bring my dog to a local dog-friendly bar, but I will not be bringing your dog there unless you request it specifically.

I live in an apartment in the Castro, so walks in the neighborhood are easy. If they have issues with cars or busy streets, I can walk them up hill towards the dog park which is very quiet. I have a large dog crate if you would like me to use it during their stay, so you don't need to bring your own. No yard, but there's a big, open, gated, parking area that me and some neighbors use for quick fetch sessions. (Let me know if you need parking while you are away.) There is an unfenced dog park up the hill from my apt less than half a mile, and a dog fenced dog park all the way at the top. I have a car, so if they are older or have health issues, I can always drive to either of those parks or anywhere else.

Let me know if your pet has any special needs, their general energy level, or any triggers/behavioral issues I should know about. Also let me know if I should be avoiding any specific foods.

Walks in the neighborhood stopping at local shops I know that have dog treats for visitors. Once a day park time at the nearby park. Fetch on the property. Basic obedience training sessions with rewards. I have lots of tig ropes too.

Calm energy, care, and attention
Erfahrung in der Haustierbetreuung
After losing my beloved Border Collie, Kato, after 14 years together, I reflected on the stress and worry I always had when trying to find boarding. I understand all dogs have different needs and quirks, and letting a strange person take care of your pet pet in a new environment can be worrisome. I always felt more comfortable with my boy in home with no other dogs, and now that he is gone, I want to offer that to others as well. I have dog-sat for family and friends over the years--a Jack Russell, labs, basset hound, golden retrievers, chihuahuas, and huskies--and they all end up loving me. I think it is my general calm energy and positive reinforcement philosophy. I grew up with a Border Collie, and when I got my driver's license, he decided I was his new #1 in the home (probably from the car rides we would take). I have probably watched every episode of It's Me or The Dog on YouTube/Animal Planet multiple times, and I taken that positive reinforcement philosophy forward with my own research, and I use that approach with my dog and every dog interaction I have. Know that your dog will be in a calm and secure place with me. Currently volunteering at the SF SPCA.

Brian was fantastic! He kept us updated throughout the entire stay, and Blue seemed to really take to him. He was very thoughtful about understanding how to best care for Blue and took the time to learn his routines, quirks, and needs. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing Blue was in such attentive and capable hands. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and would absolutely book with Brian again. Highly recommend! 🐾

Brian was great! Very communicative; he provided detailed daily reports and responsive when I reached out with any questions. My wife and I both felt at ease having him in our home watching our pup.

Brian did a great job dealing with Tippi’s quirks as she got acclimated to a new setting. We knew she was in safe hands!

Brian was great with Cottonball and provided regular updates. He did his best with my very anxious older dog.
