I am taking the summer off before starting veterinary school in August at Kansas State University! I’m excited to spend that time caring for animals. I have experience working in both a small animal veterinary clinic and a dog daycare/boarding facility, where I cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. In both of these roles, I’ve gained experience with feeding, administering medications, observing behavior, handling pets, and making sure animals feel safe and comfortable while away from home. I’m reliable, attentive, and truly love getting to know each pet’s personality. As a future veterinarian, animal health and well-being are extremely important to me!

Pet safety and comfort is very important to me. I have learned to understand animal behavior and try to make each pet feel as safe as possible. I am comfortable recognizing signs of stress and anxiety and feel confident de-escalating situations should they arise. I try to make pets feel comfortable with a stranger around by giving them plenty of time to warm up and space if they need it.

Erfahrung in der Haustierbetreuung
I have taken care of dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, temperaments, and medical requirements. Due to having worked in a veterinary clinic, I am capable of handling pets with specific health requirements and am very comfortable with animals from diverse backgrounds. This position has also helped me to understand pet behavior, especially with anxious or shy pets. My employment at a boarding facility and dog daycare has helped prepare me for playtime and enrichment while dogs are away from their owners. This position also made me comfortable handling and caring for multiple dogs at once. I have dog and cat-sat for many friends and coworkers over the years and am comfortable providing care for pets in someone else's home.

Ava is a wonderful pet caregiver. She has lots of experience working with all kinds of cats and dogs, she can handle the shy and nervous and the crazy silly ones too! Ava is gentle, patient and kind. She is respectful and professional. I highly recommend Ava!!
Ava did a fantastic job watching my dog. She made it so that I could truly relax on a vacation without being concerned about my boy. Not only does she treat my dog like her own, but I knew that if anything went wrong she’d know what to do. Having a dog sitter who works at an animal hospital is invaluable and Ava is walking proof of that!
It is my genuine pleasure to recommend Ava as a pet-sitter. I have known Ava for over twenty years, and have relied on her for pet sitting over the past several years. She has consistently demonstrated the qualities that matter most when entrusting someone with the care of an animal: reliability, trustworthiness, and a deep, authentic love for pets. She shows up when she says she will, follows care instructions carefully, and goes above and beyond to make sure animals in her care feel safe and comfortable. Pet owners can rest easy knowing that Ava treats every animal as if it were her own — with patience, attentiveness, and real affection. Whether it's a routine feeding, a long walk, or simply keeping a nervous pet company, she approaches every responsibility with the same warmth and dedication. Any pet would be lucky to have her, and any owner would be lucky to have found her.
