I work remotely as a freelancer, and during housesits, will not leave your pets alone except for essential errands lasting no more than two hours at a time, once a day. (For example, medical or dental appointments, checking on my own home and pets, running errands). For pets who suffer from separation anxiety, I may be able to offer continuous 24/7 coverage but this will need to be discussed.

I feel that it's very important that client and sitter are a good fit for each other. While I am happy to work with households containing reactive pets or complex routines such as rotating dogs who do not always get along, I cannot accept jobs involving aggressive animals or those with a bite history. Pre-booking meet and greets are critical to making sure that we are on the same page and that both you and I have an understanding of what your pet's routine should be while you are gone. I provide daily updates via text, email, or messenger, and am available via phone or text 24/7 when you are away. For routine inquiries, please be aware that I do not check my messages between 9PM-8AM Pacific time.

It's really important to me that I know your pet's routines so we can stay consistent! Do you take the same route every day, or explore for new smells and sights? Is your pet nervous about (or oblivious to) things like car noises or lawn equipment we might encounter on walks? Do they prefer to walk alone or with friends? (My dogs like to come along if your dog wouldn't mind!) I'm comfortable dealing with reactive dogs, but it's important that I know ahead of time so we can make sure everyone is as safe as possible.
A typical day
I really try to stick to the routine that pets are used to, but with my own dogs, we tend to walk both in our neighborhood and take field trips to other fun places in the area. My favorite field trip walk with my own dogs is Fort Funston - trails AND beach. We also enjoy canicross running and urban mushing with a scooter!

Pet care experience
My experience is primarily with cats and dogs (in particular pit bulls and northern breeds including huskies), and aquariums (fresh, salt and reef), although I am happy to discuss sitting for households that include exotics such as reptiles or small pets. I am comfortable with high medical needs or multi-pet households due to my previous experience with multiple-cat homes and as an owner of two dogs and a cat myself. I only care for pets who are able to remain in their home environment (housesitting) because I feel that maintaining their usual routines and experience as much as possible when their humans are gone is critical to minimizing their stress.

Every time I leave my pets with Allegra, I know they're in great care, because they go the extra mile when it comes to pet care. My cat is very skittish with anxiety, but gets along great with Allegra. Additionally, they own two pomskis which they manage very skillfully, despite the high maintenance.
Allegra took care of my Cavapoo. She brought her 2 dogs and stayed at my house for several days. My dog had a blast playing with her two dogs. We were very happy to have Allegra stay with our Buddy. I recommend her.
Allegra has been a fabulous care giver for our two dogs when we travel. I always have confidence that she will provide them with the love and attention they need. She takes them outside to play and cuddles with them in front of the tv. She even goes the extra mile - last time we were out of balls and our dog is a BIG fetcher so she went and got more balls for her! She has always handled the required medicines and special instructions well. I highly recommend her!
