Alice and Gary - friendly dog sitters and walkers!
Hi there, We’re Alice and Gary, both living and working in Frome. Alice works as a Teacher, and Gary is a model-maker working from home. We both love dogs (and cats - all animals in fact!). Alice is a previous dog-owner; her family dog was called Rusty, and he was a rescue pup who lived with them for over 10 years. She also has general good experience with animals, having lived and worked on an animal sanctuary in Slovenia for over a year (including looking after some doggos). Gary has experience as an owner of a beautiful ragdoll cat called Moxie, which he looked after from when she was a kitten. Gary and Alice both help to look after friends’ dogs from time to time, and have received great feedback from the pups and their owners. Through Rover, we have tended to specialise in looking after nervous or anxious dogs.

This was Raffi’s first stay with Alice and Gary. He was clearly comfortable with them right from the start and he had a lovely time playing with his toys, going for walks and sitting on laps. We were sent regular photos and videos and were very happy with the care he received. We would definitely use these sitters again.
Alice & Gary are amazing, my pod Luna was very happy with them for the day and I'll be calling on them again for help with her.

Gary works from home, and depending on the needs of the dog (or cat!), this means that we are pretty available most of the time. Alice works 4 days a week at a local school. We are also likely to be able to help out on weekends, or during the school holidays. Please get in touch to enquire about availability.

Day Care / Pet Sitting: We tend to host only one dog at a time, or dogs only from one household. While they stay with us, your furry friends are looked after and loved :) We will stick to their usual routine / schedule in terms of walking, meals and treats etc, and even allow them to sleep in our bed (it’s a treat for us too)! Walking: We have a car with a lovely big boot (which we don’t mind getting muddy!) and are happy to drive to nice “W-a-l-k” places in Frome and the surrounding areas. We feel most comfortable walking your pup on the lead, especially when getting to know them (although we do have a longline lead for those that like a bit of a runaround, feel free to supply us with a harness!). We are more than happy to go for long walks (2 hours+) if it fits in with our working patterns :) Check-ins / Sitting at your home: We are both considerate and respectful people, and would do our best to make sure that your animals are looked after while you are away, and to give them all the attention and love that you usually would! We would aim to take care of your home so that everything is in order when you return, with no worries while you're away. We are more likely to be available for day-time check-ins (between 8am - midnight) than for overnight stays, although on the odd occasion we may be able to facilitate this!

We take care of all the pets as if they were our own - with lots of cuddles, play, fuss and attention, as well as time to just chill out and relax as needed. There are lots of options for good dog walks near us - Victoria Park, Whatcombe fields, Rodden Fields and Vallis Vale river walk to name a few! We are happy to take your doggo out and about to explore and have a good run around. And for the calmer, gentler or more nervous pups, we can go to lesser walked areas and stay on the lead if necessary :)
