I work at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and still can’t get enough of dogs and cats – hopefully that explains how much I adore animals! Through my job at Battersea, I have been lucky to receive professional training on dog and cat body language, behaviour, and safety. I grew up with dogs of all different sizes and temperaments (a gentle giant Labrador, a shy Bichon Frise, and a feisty Dachshund). I am now 28 and have experience with: 🐾 Senior dogs: our family Dachshund lived to be 16, and in his senior years I helped administer his medications every few hours, walked him around in his wheelchair, did physical therapy on his arthritic legs, and helped him go to the bathroom as his legs were too weak to hold himself up. 🐾 Dog sitting and dog walking: I‘ve been dog sitting and dog walking on Rover for 5 years now, and prior to that I cared for the pets of my friends and neighbours back home in the US. 🐾 Rescue animals: I have fostered two dogs (one of which turned into a "failed foster", as my family decided to adopt her in the end!) and volunteered at animal rescues. I now have a full-time job at a rescue in the marketing department. 🐾 Cats: I have lived with a lovely cat and have looked after cats too. 🐾 Small animals: One of my favourite Rover clients is actually a rabbit, so I’m happy to look after any small furry friends too!
