“Lyndsey is a very caring and considerate pet sitter. She made our Elmer feel right at home and with regular updates kept our minds at ease. Her family and own pets were also very easy going. Highly recommend!!”
“Gill was definitely the best person I have found to mind Phillip. This was the first time our dog stayed with a stranger so I was apprehensive at first, but after meeting Gill I knew he would be very well looked after and receive love while I would be away. She took him on plenty of walks and we could see that he was extremely happy from all the videos she was sending to us (we received daily updates). We are delighted we have found Gill to look after Phillip in the future. We will highly recommend Gill to anyone. Thank you again Gill ”

About: Hi, I'm David and based in Ballincollig. I've always had a huge love for dogs and owned one of my own over 11 years but he sadly passed away in April. Jackson was a friendly half-Lab, half Pitbull who taught me how much joy and loyalty dogs bring to your life. I'm a very active person and while I have the most experience with medium to bigger sized dogs, I am open to walking all kinds. I'm reliable, patient and I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I'll treat each dog with the same care and attention I gave my own. Available for walks around Ballincollig, I am happy to walk dogs whether they are vaccinated or not and I am usually available for longer walks if that suits your dog. I also drive so I can come to meet you if that is more suitable. Really looking forward to spending time with dogs again! I work from the office 2–3 half days per week, so I have good flexibility throughout the week. Mondays and Fridays are particularly suitable for me, as well as weekends. I’m also available for one-hour dog walks around lunchtime on most weekdays, as well as evening walks on most days depending on my work schedule. I’m happy to arrange a regular schedule or accommodate occasional walks where possible. I’ll always do my best to work around your dog’s routine and make sure they get the exercise, attention and care they need. I have a safe and secure home environment, including an enclosed back garden with full fencing, providing a secure space if a dog is ever in my care at home. I understand how important trust is when it comes to looking after pets, and I always prioritise safety, supervision, and consistency. I’m calm, responsible, and attentive with dogs, and I will treat every dog as if they were my own, ensuring they are comfortable, secure, and well looked after at all times.

“Thrilled with Courtney and her care of Pepper. She was a little nervous at first but Courtney and her family ensured Pepper was comfortable, safe and one of the family. Super communication and as many updates as you want. Highly recommend.”

“Niamh was absolutely amazing with Brandy. He has come home so chilled and happy. She gave us picture updates and nothing was a bother with her. We can’t wait to use her for Brandy again.”

“Valerie looked after my fur babies so well last night — it truly felt like a home away from home. They were happy, and completely content while staying with her. I couldn’t have asked for better care, and would certainly recommend Valerie 🐶🐶 Sarah, Sunny & Millie”

“Amy was an absolute fantastic dog sitter. She was amazing from the moment we met ! Treating Boo as one of her own. I received regular updates and photos on how Boo was doing throughout the day which was very reassuring. Boo came back happy and relaxed couldn’t have asked for better care !! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy and caring sitter.🩷”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost of Dog Boarding in Kinsale is €35 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between €33 and €43 per night.
On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the pri ce s hown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.
As of November 2026, there are 52 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across the city of Kinsale. About 98% typically respond to requests within 60 minutes.
Enter your address and booking dates to see which sitters are available near you. You can also message multiple sitters to improve your chances of finding the right care.
Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Cork ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.
Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.
Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
