Daycare booking charges?

Hi guys! I’m coming across an issue where when clients want to book for daycare they’re choosing a drop off time of 7am and then pickup at 9-10 pm and that’s literally a WHOLE day, and they expect to pay just $30 for the daycare charge.. For boarding the price auto generates by adding a surcharge if it’s more than a certain amount of hours but for daycare It doesn’t have a limit of hours of care according to price. Does anyone else face these concerns? If so how do you go about it?

First off, add your daycare hours to your profile. Say that dropoffs may be made between x and x time and pick up by y and y time. That way you will avoid people trying to take advantage.

I only offer boarding. So if a dog is with me for more than 8 hours, they have always paid for a full night of boarding, even before Rover's automatic extended care kicked in.

Just say no to these people.

You can use Cost Adjustment to add what you think is appropriate compensation before booking. Before rover started the auto generated charges based on arrival & departure times, sitters who wanted fair compensation asked start and end times and submitted a Cost Adjustment for the difference.

If Daycare is $45 and Boarding is $80, you may choose to value undisturbed sleep of the dog not staying overnight is worth a $5 or $10 discount off the 24 hour boarding rate. If submit $30 or $25 cost adjustment for extended daycare, then their total would show $75 or $70.

In the comments, you can communicate that daycare is generally is regarded between 8-10 hours and 14-15 hours is well beyond that, so a cost adjustment has been added for the extra care,
