Confused about client's request for scheduling needs (suspicious? odd?); how to book/modify his specific request?

I'm new to Rover so I'm still pretty green and awkward with using the app and computer and most of the features--(I've been sitting a long time but have done so through another franchise that does all the booking and details for me, or I do it on my own.)

I have a client looking for a sitter for his dog for an 11 day period coming up, which he booked as house sitting(overnights) for 11 days straight. However he is actually needing me to only come in 3x/week over that 11 day period and requesting maybe 3 hours of time with his dog for play, and he stated it doesn't matter which days, whatever works best for me, and anytime of day is fine. However he booked 11 days straight bc he doesn't know how to book what is requesting.

First---does this sound strange to anyone? I've pet sat for years and I've had people have me come in a few times a week for however long but it DID matter what days or what time I was there, the entire thing was not up to me bc dogs need their exercise, feeding, meds, whatever. So I'm just wondering if this is weird that I'm being told whatever 3 days I want any 3 hours of the day doesn't matter.

And if that doesn't sound off or scam like to anyone or I can get a further explanation that makes sense, HOW do I accept the booking and modify the calendar and scheduling with this client from his 11 days house sitting request to the 3 days of 3 hour visit time that is decided on?

Much appreciated.

Something similar is currently happening to me right now and I’m not sure what to do. He gave me his number and I looked it up but I can’t find anything on it. He’s also wanting me to purchase stuff for his dog. It’s very odd and I just don’t trust it. What did you do?

Almost Guaranteed SCAM! You'll be out of pocket for any money spent! If you look at the customer's profile, you'll see a rover assigned number. If you text that # support can review. It's safer to use that for text or if you want to call.

Do meet and greet first. Guarantee you he'll tell you to "call on phone to set up appointment" To which you respond "thanks for your phone number, I'll give you mine when we meet in person! Is tommorw a good day?" Many many many times the ridiculous requests are just that: ridiculous.

Definitely it sounds like a scam. If you want to be sure, you can play along by keeping ALL messages on the rover platform. Further ahead, support can review those and disable that person's account if they're a scammer, which I'm fairly confident. In a short time, I anticipate there will be the tell tale scam of payment by check, money order, wire, or something like that which will Bounce!

And if its real just decide the total cost of visits. Then adjust pricing on computer to reflect that. It doesn't matter what specific days you go during the time frame as long as it's completed
