Multiple visits requested in the same day. Should I recommend a house sitter instead?

Hello!

I have a new client that travels frequently for work. She has me booked for three visits a day, throughout the day, for four days. If I'm correct about her travel schedule, she's likely looking for someone who will be able to work this schedule on an ongoing manner.

My concern is I have a full time job as well as Rover. 3 visits a day is more than I can comfortably handle long term.

She's a really cool lady and her dog, while a sweet girl, is a recent rescue and could use more socialization than I can provide her in 30 minute visits. There are also three cats in the house, although the only thing required of me is to ensure their water bowls are full and occasionally scoop the litter.

I'm wondering, with the time requirements and the pup's real need to be socialized, if having someone house sit during the day might be a better fit for their needs. I don't believe it would have to be an overnight thing, just a doggy day care in the owner's house situation.

I want to try and find a sitter/visitor for her that can provide the ongoing services I believe she needs, as cost effectively as possible. At my rates, that costs her $45/day.

I'm interested in polling the community to see what you would charge for this kind of service. Any advice would be much appreciated.

How much a sitter might charge will widely vary, largely based on availability. However, I know in my area, she could find a good sitter that would treat it like a personalized extended day care in the dog's home for $45/day (of course, some may offer less, and some more). This situation would also allow the sitter to possibly book some nearby walks. Since this isn't something you want to book long term, you could encourage her to call support to explain her needs and have them help her find a match - or she could try on her own.

Many Rover sitters charge a higher rate than $15 a visit you are at the low end of the scale. Your profile indicates you only offer drop-ins and walks, maybe you would consider offering house sitting for this client? If that doesn't work for you and you cannot provide the care the client requires maybe you consider not accepting the booking?
