“Sara and her family are wonderful! Our dog Ember has stayed with her many times over the last few years and always has a great time. Sara sends frequent updates and I always feel comfortable knowing that Ember is getting amazing care. Thank you Sara :)”

“Yaina was AMAZING! She took care of our dog like it was own. We got plenty of pictures while we were away which made us smile. We will definitely use her again. Rosie our dog had the best time!”

“We were nervous leaving Brody for the first time overnight but Wenxu and her husband reassured us he will be well taken care of. And he sure was. The adorable photos and videos started coming through and Brody was clearly having a great time and felt at home so quickly. Thank you so much for taking care of our pup! He will see you again soon!”

“Kristen and her partner were amazing! We received many photos of Mako on walks and hanging out with them at home. Knowing Mako was well taken care of gave us piece-of-mind to enjoy the weekend of wedding activities. Thanks Kristen!”

“Vanessa is incredible. The whole family loved our dogs like they were their own. She was communicative and flexible - truly couldn’t ask for a better experience.”

“Diana was amazing with my pup, Louis! He had an absolute blast — especially getting to run around outside and play with the other dogs and kids, which is such a treat for him since he doesn’t get that kind of freedom in Manhattan. I could tell he was well cared for and totally in his element. Communication was great, with tons of photos daily, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such a loving, fun environment. I’d strongly recommend Diana to anyone looking for a thoughtful and responsible sitter — we’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Alissa was great with Chutney. We got regular updates with videos. We had some last minute changes with pick up, Alissa was very flexible and we didn’t have to worry. Would definitely recommend her.”

“We have a 80 lbs, 12+ year old lab, with arthritis in hind legs which makes it difficult for him to sit and get up. This time when our regular pet sitter was not available, we left Simba with Isabella with an almost skeptical mind as she did not have many reviews and seemed new. But at the end of the stay, we’re delighted to say that she took the best care of him, and made sure he got his walks and medicine on time.. she sent us very frequent updates including pictures and videos. She did everything to make sure that we were not worried about simba even for a minute while he was with her and were able to enjoy our time peacefully! Highly recommended!!”

“Danielle is Ernie’s favorite! She gave him a true “home away from home”, and me daily peace of mind updates with photos. She will be my first phone call next time.”

“What a wonderful experience for Wally and me with Caroline watching him! He did not want to come home! She is a loving dog mom herself and sent me lots of photos while he stayed with her – he was smiling in all of them. Cannot recommend Caroline highly enough.”

“Denise was lovely! We are so glad we chose to leave our dog, Perry, with her for the week while we were away. She sent pictures and updates daily, and I felt that she really got to know him while we weren't there. Perry came home so happy and had the best time with Denise and her family. We can't thank her enough for taking such good care of our little guy, and we'll definitely be using her going forward. She's fabulous!!!! Thanks Denise!!!”

“So responsive to our texts and communication was great. She treated Ranger like a part of the family and send us lots of photos. Ranger got along with her dog and cat and we plan to have Ranger stay here again in the future”

“Delmy and her daughter were great! They sent photos and videos constantly. Her house was clean and she even let me come and meet her before I even booked. It was very comforting knowing she wanted me to feel comfortable leaving my Remi with her. Thank you so much!”

“I know my sweet dog is with a good caregiver when we book with Giovanna. This was a very long stay for him, 2 weeks, and I felt at peace about the care he would receive.”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
