About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats and have loved animals my entire life. Caring for pets has always been a natural part of my daily routine, and I understand the importance of providing them with attention, patience, exercise, and affection. I am a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time I can spend with your dog! Lots of land for hosting and walking. I have a four acre property with a river, forest, and field for dogs to enjoy but sadly it isn’t fenced but lots of room to play around safely!

About: I have had a small dog for 10 years that lives at my parents house as they are retired and love having him around. I now have two cats living with me who are the most snuggly cats you'll ever meet! I am also frequently around large dogs and horses as I live with my fiance at the Stable he works at. I love all animals and understand how difficult it can be to take time away from them for other priorities. I am currently working from home just outside of Georgetown. I have flexible hours, including lunches. On weekends I usually go for hikes or walks outside, so I can easily fit my services into my schedule. I have a dog that was untrained when we first got him. I was able to crate train and potty train (peeing outside) with treats and encouragement. I am generally a calm person, which I have found helps as well. I would love to come for a introduction to make sure everyone is comfortable.

“Emma provided house sitting for my dog for a night, and I couldn’t be more pleased. She stopped by ahead of time even though it was a pretty last minute booking to meet my dog and make sure it was a good fit, and allow my dog to familiarize with her. My dog took to her immediately, which isn’t the most common as my dog can be a little standoffish with people the first time. During that time Emma was lovely to chat with, and my dog just wanted to play with her the entire time. Over the evening she watched her, Emma provided photos and videos of how things were going, and updates on behaviour, feedings, and potty breaks. Even went back to turn some lights on for me after I failed to mention that request earlier. Emma also left my home just as she found it, which was very kind. Would absolutely recommend her for your animal care needs.”

I work from home part of the week so have ability to play in the backyard at lunch or let dogs outside as frequently as needed. I prioritize being outside, even on rainy days so there’s no fear that a doggo would miss out on a walk! I have a fenced yard and it’s big enough to run around or play fetch in. We have sectioned off a few areas in our house so that multiple dogs have places to take breaks separately if need be. I always want to ensure every dog that I take care of feels fulfilled and happy!

About: I grew up with Moose, our family's Shar-Pei. The breed tends to be wary of strangers, and watching Moose slowly warm up to visitors taught me to let a new dog come to me when they're ready. I've also walked dogs for neighbours and friends, and I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. On walks, my phone stays in my pocket unless I'm taking photos for your update. That way, I spot a dropped chicken bone before your dog does. If your dog tenses up at an oncoming dog, a skateboard, or a goose, I cross the street or head the other way before it turns into barking or lunging. I also adjust each walk to your dog, whether they need a slow stroll with lots of sniffing or a brisk pace to burn off energy. I'll stick to your rules too: the commands you use, how many treats are allowed, and whether the couch is off-limits. I'm on a lighter course load this term, so apart from a few classes, I'm available 7 days a week, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. That means I can walk your dog at the same time every weekday while you're at work, so they know what to expect. I'm also around for last-minute walks when you're running late, and I can usually do a meet & greet within a day or two of hearing from you. I keep my Rover calendar up to date, so if it shows me as available, I am. If my class schedule changes next term, I'll give you plenty of notice. At our meet & greet, I'll learn your dog's routine, how they are with other dogs, what spooks them, and who to call in an emergency, including your vet. On walks, I make sure your dog can't back out of their collar or harness, keep them leashed the whole time, and always pick up after them. They only greet other dogs if you're fine with it and the other dog's owner agrees. On hot days, I test the pavement with the back of my hand to make sure it's safe for paws, bring water, and keep walks short and shaded. When it's bitterly cold or icy, I shorten walks and stick to cleared paths. In your home, I block the doorway when I come and go so your dog can't dart out, and I never bring anyone else inside. On drop-ins and house sits, I keep meals, walks, and bedtime on your dog's usual schedule. When I'm staying over, I never leave them alone longer than we've agreed. Before I leave, I wipe mud or road salt off their paws, refill the water bowl, latch any gates, and lock up. After every visit, you'll get photos and a quick update, including bathroom breaks. If anything seems off, like limping or an upset stomach, I'll let you know right away.

“This was our first pet homesitting with Jillian and she was awesome! Initially we had a lot of trepidation about having a "stranger" stay in our home with our beloved dogs, Cash and Freedom. We pored over the Rover choices that lived nearer to us, but ultimately contacted Jillian, based on her bio, which exuded intelligence, maturity and an extensive animal knowledge base. After a telephone interview and follow-up home visit, we had no concerns. Jillian was calm, conscientious, professional and she had our dogs (who are overly exuberant "greeters") relaxed and respectful within minutes. It was obvious that she was a very experienced dog handler. Echoing other reviewers, Jillian was dedicated to our pets' wellbeing and she communicated regularly and effectively including photos, during the pet sit. We appreciated that Jillian could work remotely, as our dogs were used to having someone at home most of the time and it was important to us that she was able to maintain their routine. We returned from vacation to a pair of relaxed and content pups. In addition to the excellent pet care, our home was neat and tidy ... she even left us some home-baked cookies! A pet sit with Jillian is worth the cost, as she invests her own time "pre" and "post" the actual booking and makes your pets her priority for whatever length of time she stays with them. We would recommend Jillian to any other pet owners looking for exceptional care, we will be booking her to stay with Cash and Freedom again!”
