About: I have over 2 years of pet sitting experience via another app and I have Veterinary knowledge where it allows me to cater to your babies if ever the need medication or other specialty needs. I am a person who will always prioritize the well-being of your animal and during my service they will have my undivided attention well you are away. I also believe in good Communications and to bring my clients a peace of mind by providing them daily updates and I am flexible when it comes to clients requests. I have rescued a lot of animals in the past such as birds, cats, rabbits ect... I always like to set up a meet and greet with my clients prior to any booking acceptance to ensure that my client's questions are answered and that the animals except me as their sitter. in a previous app I had five star reviews across the board and my clients are now following me on this app. my household consists of two dogs three cats and five budgies and I keep bugging my husband to have baby goats but he keeps saying no for some strange reason LOL in a nutshell I would do anything for the animals to be happy. I am a person who is 100% at home. any type of services you book with me is 100% focusing on your pet. when you reserve a house sitting I will be with your pets all day and all night as I will sleep over at your house for the time of the booking. I might get out to get some groceries or get fresh air but will treat your pets the way I treat mine. My birds have their own room with a radio and plenty of sunshine where they can play and have their fresh veggies. My cats and dogs are never cratted and free to roam everywhere in the house except for the bird room. At night they basically all sleep with us in our bed.

We had a wonderful experience with Abbey and James! They were punctual, detail-oriented, and went above and beyond to make sure our pets were happy and well cared for. They even brought toys and enrichment toys to keep them entertained and engaged. Communication was excellent throughout, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We also came home to a clean and tidy house, with fresh, clean water and food bowls and the litter area swept up. It was clear that they genuinely cared about our pets and took pride in making sure everything was taken care of. We would absolutely recommend them and would happily have them care for our pets again!

About: I have cared for my family’s dogs for periods ranging from a few days to several months, and I have regularly lived with dogs for long periods of time. Through this experience, I understand that caring for animals requires time, patience, responsibility, and dedication. I truly enjoy helping animals feel safe, calm, and comfortable, and I always try to create a caring environment where they can feel relaxed and secure. I would plan my daily routine to make sure your dog is included throughout the day, with dedicated time for rest, feeding, playtime, and exercise. Your dog would not only be cared for by one person, but welcomed as part of a family environment. I genuinely enjoy the company of animals and feel comfortable understanding their behaviors, needs, and personalities, which helps me provide attentive and caring support. I live in an apartment with balcony, available for pets to move around comfortably. Even large dogs can move freely, and my home is free of fragile objects, so your dog will not feel restricted or stressed while staying with me. I also live near parks and pet-friendly walking areas, which makes it easy to provide regular outdoor exercise and enjoyable walks. I understand the needs and behaviors of animals, and I would adapt my daily routine to the schedule and specific needs of your pet. I am very protective of animals, so your dog would always be safe and carefully supervised with me, especially in open or public spaces. I believe in building trust and discipline through patience, consistency, and positive interaction rather than using force. In general, I connect well with animals and enjoy giving them a sense of safety, comfort, and confidence so they can feel protected and truly enjoy their time with me.

About: I’ve been watching dogs for 7 years now. I love all types of dogs. But the first dog I ever got close to was a pitbull. He was the first over night dog sit/house sit. I ever did, the couple would travel often due to work. So I would dog sit about 2/3 times a week. I did that for about two years and gained a lot of experience with dogs due to that job. I also find dog walking a great way to stay healthy and active with out it feeling like a work out. I’ve enjoyed dogging sitting ever since I started and don’t plan to stop. So for now that I can’t get a dog of my own. I’ll just watch yours ! Just send me a message and ill send you my number so we can set up a meeting. Price is negotiable. I’m currently a full time student online so I’m looking to make cash while staying active and happy and what a better way than to pet sit. I’ve loved animal since I was a little girl so being around them always brings me joy and as you’ll see they take a liking to me as well. Even the pups you think won’t, always end up loving me as well. I live in a very spacious one bedroom apartment with a balcony alone so they always feel free and nice fresh air. There is a courtyard in my building that is dog friendly and three dog parks near my building as well. So they will always have room to run and be themselves. I am a full time online student so I would be spending my whole day with your pups. They would always be in great care with love and attention. I have a nice courtyard in my building that’s pet friendly and they can play and I also have three dog parks in my area. Where they can run around and meet new pups if allowed I am currently an full time online student so I would be with your pup the whole day. If you’d like to hear my specific daily routine let me know 😊 I usually stick to the routine a parent gives me so they can feel as comfortable as possible while staying with me or if I’m staying in their home.

Natalia was very professional to work with and for my cats she was very caring, kind and understanding of their needs. She was reliable and always responded to any messages I sent her very promptly. I definitely recommend her as I would contact her again in the future if I find myself in need of a cat sitter.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Shawville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

There are 47 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Shawville. About 84% of Shawville sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Shawville stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shawville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
