“Melissa watched our two large dogs for the second time! She is great to message with and very accommodating! She navigates the dogs well and provides updates when needed! We will continue to use melissa- great care!”

“Cindy was great and her property is amazing. This was our first experience with Rover and I am so incredibly happy we found Cindy instead of going to a barky, overcrowded kennel. I 100% recommend!”

About: Hey! I’ve had pets in my home my whole life (from hamsters to large breed dogs). My family fostered animals from the Ottawa Humane Society for 10 plus years. I have experience with all kids of fur babies :) I work from home Monday-Friday so I have lots of flexibilty. I live in a quiet community perfect for dog walks, and have a yard for supervised potty breaks. My home is very pet friendly. I have no issues with pet hair on furniture or the occasional mess. I have my own three legged kitty who is dog friendly. I love to give affection to pets and allow them on my furniture.
“Trudy took excellent care of our lab, Reece! She was an excellent communicator and sent us pictures of their adventures every day. Reece came home super tired, just the way we love her :) ! She can’t wait to go back to Trudy’s house to play with her new buddies. Thanks Trudy!”

“Suzanne and Adrian were the best host for our dog. Our dog chewed its leash but they were kind enough to get a replacement and a bonus toy :-). They were great in accommodating our last minute request and they were sure to give us heads up and updates of our dog every day. Keep up good job S&A”

“We were a bit nervous leaving our 10.5yr old Lab, 1. because she is getting older, stubborn, and occasionally "whiny", and 2. since she hasn't even been in a kennel since before COVID. We met Allison and her daughter when we brought Darva for a first check suggested by Allison, that made sense to see if our dogs had innate antipathies, and could be civil with each other. All went well. A few days later we brought our dog over and left her while we had a day out of town. Allison sent us a picture of our dog to show that she was fine - and our dog was actually looking at the camera, which was unusual since she normally refuses when anyone points a "soul-sucker" in her direction, and turns her head away We found the care and the place good for our dog and know that Allison did all she could to alleviate any of our concerns..”

“Ashley treated Rooster like family the minute she met him. Her communication, understanding, flexibility and professional is top tier! She saved us when we were in a pinch and made Rooster feel right at home! Thank you!”

“April is an amazing person.. she went above and beyond to look after our fur baby Oscar. He was so happy staying with her and playing with her little fur babies! April’s husband Alan was just as supportive as her. These guys are real gems!”
“Stuart was amazing! I don’t think my dogs wanted to leave his amazing home. He ensured to give me an update and picture and I felt completely at ease leaving my dogs with him. I would highly recommend Stuart. :)”

“Frederick was an amazing caregiver for our dog Joe, a six-year-old Boxer. He gave Joe tons of love and exercise, sent regular updates, and even bathed him prior to pick up! Frederick's home was ideal for our dog, as he lives in the country, has one mature dog of his own (Joe's new friend) and there were no children in the mix. We had absolutely no worries about Joe while we were away on vacation for three weeks. I will contact Frederick first for all future dog-sitting needs.”

About: Shortly after moving to Renfrew, I rescued my dog Sage in July 2024. She is from Baffin Island, Nunavut—and I was initially told that she was a husky but she never grew! Given her size and demeanour, we believe her to be a Shiba Inu mix—we just aren’t sure how she ended up in the Arctic! About me: I have always loved animals, and I took this passion into account when choosing my first home. The house has a very large fenced-in yard that Sage loves to roam freely in. I enjoy spending much of my time in the backyard, whether in the garden or playing with Sage. Since I have all this space, and the time, I figured it would be a fun and rewarding opportunity to welcome other pets into my space on occasion, overnight on weekends or during the day on Tuesdays and Fridays when I work from home. I am also quite active, and would be happy to have another pup joining Sage and I on our walks! My partner and I both work full-time, though I work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays. I am also often available on weekends, allowing me to provide dogs with consistent attention and care. I am very adventurous with my own dog, taking her on camping trips, hikes, canoes and SUPs—she does it all and loves it! I am very active and take Sage on at least two walks per day on weekdays, also playing in the yard for about an hour each day. On weekends, I tend to go on longer walks or hikes in the area, and sometimes go to the cottage for an evening or two, where my dog will join me on snowshoe trips in the winter or boat rides in the summer. All in all, Sage is very spoiled and has my attention all the time—I love her so much and I would be happy to have her make friends with the other dogs in the area, which would be treated with a paralleled affection! As mentioned, I have a very large fenced yard which will allow your dog to play with my dog for as long as they want! My dog has free range of the house, and sleeps in bed with my partner and I (spoiled!!!). I would be happy to respect any rules that you have for your own pet when it comes to food, crating, training, etc. Our dog does her business outside in the yard, and it is preferred that your dog does the same (no pee pads). Your dog can be dropped off whenever works best for you, or I can pick them up if nearby enough. I can provide all-day daycare with two walks and free range of the backyard (with close supervision) on Tuesdays and Fridays (morning drop-off with evening pickup), or I can watch your dog all weekend (Friday morning to Sunday evening). During all of these times I will be home, but may need to leave the house for a maximum of two hours to go get groceries, etc. My dog is very playful, so ideally your dog is also playful and medium-high energy. I can of course watch lower-energy dogs, but would want to make sure they get along with my rambunctious pup first!
“She’s awesome. She goes above and beyond. She went on so many adventures with our dog. And that’s what we appreciate the most- we wanna see our dog forming memories as much as we do. Thanks for everything!”

About: About Ricardo I have over 8 years of experience as a dog sitter, walker and Behaviorist in Mexico. I’ve had dogs since I was a child, and I’ve always had a natural ability to understand and connect with them. Over 10 years ago, when my dog Horchata joined my life, she was energetic and needed guidance. I took a diploma in Spain to learn how to help her become balanced and confident. Later, friends began asking me to care for their dogs while they travelled, and they were impressed to see how their pets improved after staying with me for a few weeks. That experience motivated me to dedicate my life to dog care, something I enjoy. I currently work as a Kennel Assistant, caring for dogs of all ages and personalities. This role gives me hands-on experience with routines, enrichment, feeding, safety, and observing behavior changes. I have availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to care and/or for a great walk. Although I live in an apartment, I know the value of frequent walks and I take them seriously. I stay attentive to each dog’s needs and adapt to their routine and personality. I’m available every day and almost all the time since I work from home, which makes this the perfect activity for me. I recently left a two-year job to dedicate myself fully to pet care again. Although I live in an apartment, I know how important frequent walks are, and I take them seriously. I always stay attentive to each dog’s needs and can easily adapt to every pup’s routine and personality.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 11 years, starting with my first Siberian Husky, who taught me everything about patience, consistency, and unconditional love. For the past 8 years, I’ve been training and competing in dog agility, and I currently share my life with three Border Collies who are active competitors, plus my beloved retired Husky. I understand dogs of all ages, breeds, and energy levels — from high-drive working dogs to seniors needing a slower pace. My experience in agility means I’m skilled at reading canine body language, providing mental stimulation, and keeping dogs both safe and happy. Whether your pup needs a structured walk, playtime, or just some extra love while you’re away, I’ll treat them like my own. Pet care fits seamlessly into my weekdays, as I’m available during daytime hours while most people are at work. I structure my day to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and rest, making sure their routine is consistent and comfortable. Weekends are flexible as well, so I can accommodate extra visits or longer stays when needed. When caring for pets in my home or at your home, I prioritize safety, comfort, and routine. During walks, all dogs are kept on leash and under close supervision. I ensure that no food or harmful items are accessible, and I maintain controlled environments so pets can explore, play, and relax safely. Each pet’s individual needs are respected, whether it’s exercise, attention, or quiet time, so they feel secure and happy.
Shawville dog parents share their Rover experiences
Melissa is delightful. There was some confusion regarding requested services. I booked dog walking however I likely made a mistake along the way of the booking and somehow the requested service went through as day birding instead of dog walking.Melissa was very flexible and came over to provide the requested service. Freedom was happy tired after the walk. I will definitely use Melissa again when the need arises Heather Hackney

Melissa was absolutely wonderful! She was communicative and accommodating throughout Arlos stay and kept us updated which gave us such peace of mind. Her attentiveness and care ensured Arlo was comfortable and happy the entire time. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!
