“Josie walks my dog Baloo for me. He is very high energy and a lot of dog to deal with, yet she knows how to meet his needs perfectly. Josie communicates well and sends lots of updates/pictures of their time together. She is very reliable and easy to work with. I trust her 1000% with my fur baby!”

About: Hi, I’m Jess👋🏻 I’m a working professional with a lifelong love of animals and experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. While I no longer offer boarding services, I am available for dog walks, drop-in visits, and occasional house sitting. I work regular weekday hours, but I have some flexibility during the summer months and am happy to discuss schedules to find a good fit. I am comfortable handling reactive dogs, administering medications, and following individualized care routines to help your pet feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. As a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your pet like one of their own. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care and plenty of love, play, and companionship so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. FYI: I do work a regular 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday schedule that does not allow me to provide check-ins, or walks during working hours. I live in a house in a central part of the city with a partially-fenced in backyard with lots of space to roam and play around in.
About: I am an outdoor-enthusiast and animal lover. I grew up with large dogs, cats, and rabbits, so I am confident around any type of furry friend. One of my favourite pastimes is going on adventures with my German Shepherd, Remi, whether that is hiking, swimming, or playing fetch. In rain, sunshine, or snow - I would love to provide the same fun experiences for your dogs! I have raised Remi since she was 8-weeks-old so I am also confident with rambunctious, teething puppies who haven’t quite figured out their training. Growing up around animals, I also have experience with dogs and cats who don’t understand personal space, and I would love to share in their love! My furbabies are my best friends, so I understand the importance of having a caretaker with experience, who you can trust, and I hope I can be that person for you! I am currently doing free-lance work so I have plenty of time in my schedule to spend with your furbabies, any day of the week! With a dog and cat of my own, I know animals are creatures of habit. I am happy to maintain their daily routines, as odd or specific as they may be, whether that involves their meal times, treat rules, specific diet guidelines, playtime, scooping litter for cats, or potty breaks for dogs (don’t worry I supply my own poop bags)! Most importantly, my number one priority is to maintain normalcy and keep your animals safe and comfortable.
“Paige is great to work with! I'm happy with her communication skills and flexibility. My dog came back all tired out from her walk and I look forward to her taking her out again soon!”

“Ashley was great! She came for a meet and greet and walk in preparation for an over night stay and Miso loved her immediately. I am very confident that they'll have a great time together when she puppy sits him in a few weeks. Thanks Ashley!!!”

I often joke that I love working with animals more than people. Your pets will be well cared for. I am currently working full time, but am available evenings, weekends and days off. I can visit before work after work even stay over night when I’m working my regular job I have a fenced in back yard as well as a dog and a cat but would prefer to do visits in your house at this time.
About: Going away on vacation? Have a new pet who gets lonely while you're at the office? Looking for a fun-loving dog walker? I am taking on new clients for dog walking and drop-in visits! I have 8 years of experience being a primary caregiver for my own dogs. I have a 89 pound, Bernese Mountain Dog, Briggs. You can rest assured knowing your four-legged friend is in the best hands and may even learn a trick or two. Contact me today to set up a meet and greet! I currently have availibility during the week for dog walking and drop in visits. Monday to Sunday- depending on your dog walking needs. We can coordinate a schedule needed for your furry friend. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Sault Ste. Marie
Kelly was simply amazing with walking our two large dogs. One of our dogs is a troublemaker and certainly can give people a run for their money with her shenanigans, but Kelly handled her expertly. She was always punctual and communicative and was able to work around any hiccups she encountered. We really appreciated the notes and photos that she sent while we were out of town. We would hire her again in a heartbeat (if she’ll have us after our dog’s naughty behaviour!!)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sault Ste. Marie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
