About: I've always had pets since I was very little, dogs and cats both, and have pet-sitted quite a bit since then. From bully breeds to kittens, I've had experience with all kinds of animals. I can't wait to meet yours! I'm an online part time student so I have quite a bit of time to spend with your pets, I love the outdoors and the indoors so I'm delighted to spend time with your pet. From the moment that I'm with your pet, it will have my full attention. I'm always careful about flight risks when entering and exiting. When exiting I'm always careful to make sure all exits are closed properly. On walks I tend to stay away from other dogs for your dogs for your dog's safety. I always bring a water bottle and a dish to make sure your dog stays hydrated!
“Debra cared for 2 family dogs over the Christmas 🎄 season. One was a very active chocolate lab and the second was a blind older dog. Debra was excellent meeting their individual needs. She was prompt, professional and responsive in her communication with us. She shared photos and videos with us which gave us peace of mind, I would highly recommend Debra and look forward to reaching out to here when we require future service.”

“💖Liz was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! It was so reassuring to know that our puppy, Joy,was in such great hands! Liz's T.L.C., including many walks, was so very helpful and a comfort to Joy while we were away. It was the longest we've been away, so to have the peace of mind, offered by Liz, made all the difference! We LOVED the daily updates and photos! Liz even worked on continuing training Joy on the lead and taught her some tricks! Our home was pristine and Liz even washed the bedding and remade the bed! We are so thankful and would highly recommend Liz!!!”

“Sharon was fabulous with both Stella and Patti. Having the dogs stay at home while we were away reduced stress for everyone. Sharon didn't hesitate to ask a load of questions about care, exercise, common habits and the schedule for the dogs. She provided daily updates and pictures. All went exceptionally well. I would highly recommend Sharon as she took pride and joy in all she did for us.”

“I am happy to leave a review for Remona and say what an amazing person she is. As we went on a 2 week vacation and left our two dogs, Boxer and Am.Bully/ Cane Corso with Remona staying full time at our apartment, Remona kept us in touch everyday with photos and videos. Our neighbors saw Remona walking our 2 dogs and she also had contact with them. We had great feedback from our neighbors on how great she was and on how well she was taking care of them and what a lovely person she is. All this information gave us peace of mind as this was the first time we had been away from our dogs. We both highly recommend Remona to anyone needing her services as we will be definitely reaching out to her again when needed. We'll done Remona, you're an owner at heart!!”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have always had a deep love and appreciation for animals. Growing up, I had the joy of caring for Shelties, Golden Retrievers, and Papillons, each teaching me the importance of patience, companionship, and understanding every dog’s unique personality. I currently have a Golden Retriever puppy who is very loved, well-socialized, and has the sweetest, most gentle personality. He is extremely well-behaved and will be starting puppy school in July to continue building his training and manners. My partner is also home and able to help care for him, ensuring every pet receives plenty of attention, supervision, and love. If your pup stays with me, they will be welcomed into a safe, caring, and dog-loving home. I want to be transparent that my puppy may be present during stays, but I always prioritize the comfort and needs of your pet. For walks, your dog will receive one-on-one attention — I will take your pup on their own walk rather than walking multiple dogs together. For drop-ins or visits, my focus will be on giving your pet personalized care, affection, and making sure they feel happy and comfortable while you’re away. Your pet will be treated like family here 🐾 I am a teacher and will be off during the months of July and August, which means I have a very flexible schedule and am available for pet care whenever needed. I have plenty of time to provide walks, drop-in visits, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Starting in September, my availability will depend on whether I accept a teaching position (LTO), but I will always have availability in the evenings and on weekends. I am committed to providing reliable and consistent care and will communicate clearly with each pet parent to make sure your pet’s needs are met. Creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every pet is my top priority. Whether I am caring for your pet in my home or visiting them in theirs, I focus on making sure they feel secure, happy, and well cared for. In my home, pets are welcomed into a calm, clean, and dog-loving environment where they receive lots of attention, affection, playtime, and supervision. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I will always take the time to make sure they feel comfortable. My Golden Retriever puppy may be present in my home, but he is extremely friendly, well-behaved, and continuing his training. When caring for pets in their own home, I respect their space and routines while providing dependable care, companionship, walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of love. I know pets feel most comfortable with familiarity, so I aim to keep their normal schedule and environment as consistent as possible. I will always communicate with pet parents, provide updates, and make sure you feel confident knowing your furry family member is safe and cared for while you’re away. 🐾
“Not only was this my first time having a house sitter in but I was also going to be totally offline and unavailable for 3 days so naturally I was a little anxious. Jenn was wonderful though and gave me the confidence I needed to know she had everything taken care of. Thoughtfull, easy going, very accommodating and excellent communication. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will definitely be booking again. Thanks Jenn!”

About: I have had all sort of pets in my life: dogs, birds, turtles, rabbits, cats, etc. The last pet my family had was a German Sheppard that we had for 16 years. I adored him. I would love to take care of your dog or cat in my house or yours. I live in a penthouse downtown Toronto. My place has two terraces and large windows that give a lot of light to the apartment. I love animals and taking care of your pet will be my priority during their stay with me. I walk dogs three times a day unless I receive different instructions. It is adjacent to Stanley park, and both Bellwood park and Fort York park are less than five minutes away. So if your dog needs long walks to burn some energy, these are great places to take your pouch. Let me know what are the food/medication needs of your pet and I will make sure to accommodate them. I know it can be hard to leave your pet with somebody and I will do my best to put your mind at easy that your pet will be well taken care. I will send you photos and regular updates so that you can enjoy your time away. I work remotely so I will be ably to give a lot of time and attention to your dog or cat. Since my work schedule is very flexible I can take your dog for walk and exercise anytime he/she needs it. If your pet needs medications at specific time I will have no problem accommodating your request. My has a fenced backyard where your pet can safely roam. There is a park behind my building which is ideal for dogs since it has an off leash fenced area as well as a leashed area.. I do not have a crate so if you like your pet to be crated at night, you will need to bring your crate. I usually let the pet roam freely in the house. If I take care of your pet in your home, feel confident that your house will be kept safe and clean.

Emily was absolutely perfect! She came by before our trip to meet our two dogs and took the time to learn about their routines and our home. She was so communicative both before and during our travels, which really put our minds at ease—it was our first time using Rover and leaving our boys with a sitter. From the photos she sent, it was clear our dogs adored her (and honestly didn’t want her to leave when we got back!). We’re so grateful for the care and attention she gave them. Thank you, Emily!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Orillia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Orillia walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Orillia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
