Melanie sent lots of messages and photos every day, and we ended up chatting about everything from food and the weather to my houseplants. She followed my detailed instructions for treats, exercise, and dog food, and left our house spotless, even washed the towels & sheets. We highly recommend Melanie because she is a very responsible dog-sitter, and is truly passionate about dogs. I think Rosie would have gone home with her if she could, they really bonded with all that cuddling! We will ask Melanie to care for Rosie for all future trips.”

About: Hi! My name is Ashton and I am a veterinary technician student with personal and professional animal care experience. I have experience with dogs who have separation anxiety, behavioural concerns, and chronic health management needs. I have cared for dogs of all ages, including puppies & seniors, as well as palliative care. I am presently working in animal care (part-time) while studying to become a veterinary technician. At home, I spend the rest of my day cuddling with and training my own Rottweiler puppy & two cats. I am happy to accommodate your pet’s needs at home with a focus on maintaining their regular routine and supporting enrichment. About: I enjoy the company that dogs bring! I think they bring a lot of joy to life and are a necessity to having a happy life. I am a Registered Nurse at the Ottawa Hospital. My previous experience with animals has been established from having a lot of animals where I grew up in the country (dogs, cats , cows and goats) . My most honourable experience is my 15 year old Standard Poodle Alfie. Towards the end of his life he had some disabilities and required a lot of time and attention. So I have experience with this and I would do it all over again and that’s why I am here. I LOVE SENIOR dogs and I take preference over them to provide services as I know how they can be forgotten about and just because they aren’t as active doesn’t mean they don’t need the same things .Willing to dog sit as well at your place if it is feasible …in the future if need be or my place is fine. About: I live in the Orleans area which means there is so much neighborhood to go for walks and runs! I am available fulltime Monday to Sunday. I have had animals all my life! As of now I have 2 dogs, a german shepherd mix and a husky mix. I current walk dogs for a living with a company but would love to try this out on my own. I am a huge animal lover and I treat them like they are my own, with love.
