“They took great care of Athena for an over night stay, she got plenty of exercise and slept the whole next day at home. Highly recommend Rafe and Carla, they have lots of experience with animals, especially dogs.”

“I had an amazing experience with Frederic and highly recommend him to everyone. He kept me updated and provided pictures throughout the process. My dogs were completely worn out when I got them back, which makes me happy—I can finally sleep soundly too!”

“First time leaving my 6 month old pup for a night but I had peace of mind knowing he'd be in good hands with Emma. He loves visiting to see his friend Luna, and even likes the cat. He slept the night no problem.”

“We left our home and animals to Jacky while out of province for a week and we couldn’t have been happier with her services. She sent daily updates of our fur babies which included tons of cute photos of them playing outdoors and relaxing indoors. She put our mind at ease knowing they were being well taken care of, not to mention our animals LOVED her! Not only did she take great care of our animals but she made sure our home was well taken care of. She even put the garbage out to the end of the road on garbage day and frequently checked on our sump pump while we were gone- AMAZING. Would 100% book with Jacky again, in a heartbeat ! Thanks Jacky!”

“Val was lovely to deal with. Bella was taken with her immediately at our meet and greet. We provided all that was needed for Bella’s visit, yet Val was ready and also had supplies on hand. Nice knowing if I forgot anything it was there. Updates were great. Bella was happy and settled when we picked her up. Would definitely book with Val again”

“Super accommodating and took great care of my anxious pup for the weekend! She can be pretty nervous but they did anything and everything to make her as calm and comfortable as possible!”
About: Very comfortable with medication administration and any special needs your dog or puppy may need. Nurse by profession with a great love for all animals. I’m available from 5pm Friday until Monday morning 8am full care. If you have other needs through the week please message to discuss - here to help in any way with your pet care needs. My golden retriever Wilson both has free rein of the home and comfortable in his kennel. I would prefer kennel trained but if well mannered - fine to have free in the house.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
