We had a wonderful experience with Amanda. My dog has a tendency to do marking inside the house, and she handled the situation with so much patience, understanding, and care. She made sure he was always safe, comfortable, and truly happy during his stay. What I really appreciated was how knowledgeable she is, she even gave me helpful advice on how to better manage this behavior in the future. She and her partner are a very kind and experienced couple, and it truly shows in how they care for dogs. I would highly recommend Amanda to anyone who wants to leave their dog and not have to worry at all while they are away. When I picked my dog up, he was actually missing her, which says everything about how well he was treated.

About: I have been a pet owner for as long as I can remember and have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I'm a confident, patient and attentive caregiver who understands that each dog has unique needs. I prioritize safety, consistency, and making each dog feel comfortable and at home. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or maintaining their regular routine, I'll care for your dog as if they were my own. As a stay at home parent, I have a flexible schedule and am home most of the day. This allows me to provide plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and companionship. I can easily maintain your dog's normal routine to help them feel comfortable and at home during their stay. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play and one friendly, well-socialized dog who enjoys meeting new friends. I always introduce the dogs gradually and supervise interactions to ensure everyone is comfortable. If your dog needs their own space, I'm happy to accommodate this as well, including crating if requested. I'll follow your feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions. I will send you updates if requested so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is in caring hands.

About: I have experience with positive reinforcement dog training and care, from young dogs to seniors that are blind, deaf, have allergies, need medications, ones that have special needs and diets, or rescues with PTSD. I currently work from home most days a month so I will be present and allow for as many bio breaks as they might need. If there are days I am required in the office, every effort will be made to ensure prompt return. When I have to run errands, I try my best to keep my time away to a few hours max. This is a fur babies come first home which is my principal foundation of how they will be loved and cared for. I have a bungalow style home which is great for pets that struggle with stairs. Even the sofa and bed are situated to accommodate accessibility for seniors and littles that want to be independent and make themselves at home. Do you have a little that isn’t a fan of taking potty breaks in the rain or snow? We have a little protected area for those that are particular. We also have a fully fenced backyard in a quiet area that is surrounded by nature, not far from the rails to trails. I also have two laid back senior toy poodles that will help keep your fur baby company and feel at ease. If there are any special circumstances or concerns you have regarding their routine and care, please let me know so I can ensure we maintain consistency. Each pet is different in personality and in what they need to be happy and cared for.

David and Emma were fantastic with our dog, Stanley. He has quite a few quirky routines and specific needs, and they took excellent care of him and followed everything perfectly. They truly went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to have them look after Stanley again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

About: I’ve always loved animals, and caring for dogs is what I’m most passionate about. I’ve been caring for pets for over 22 years and have worked professionally as a dog walker and pet sitter for 7 years. Before moving to Nova Scotia, I ran my own pet care business in Vancouver, caring for many wonderful dogs and cats. I’ve since set up my pet care business here in Nova Scotia, and I’m looking forward to meeting more local pets through Rover as well. I like to learn about each pet’s personality, normal routine, and anything else that’s important for me to know. Their safety and comfort are my priority. I always arrange a Meet & Greet with new clients so we can go over everything, answer any questions, and make sure it feels like a good fit for everyone. Certifications ✓ Fear Free Certified Professional ✓ PSI Certified Professional Pet Sitter ✓ Certified Professional Dog Walker ✓ Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid Certified I especially enjoy caring for small dogs, and there is a friendly little dog in the home as well. I have a flexible schedule and offer pet care during the week and on weekends. I’m happy to work with your pet’s usual routine and needs. I follow each pet’s normal routine and care instructions and provide a calm, comfortable home environment. I’m happy to accommodate raw or home-cooked diets and any special meal preparation. I use non-toxic, pet-safe cleaning products and provide filtered water. I always arrange a Meet & Greet beforehand to make sure it feels like a good fit for everyone.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Windsor home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Windsor

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
