We had Chrish watch our two young golden retrievers for a weekend. She stayed at our house & took good care of the dogs. She sent updates and photos daily. She was great to communicate with before during and after her stay. We look forward to asking Chrish back to watch the dogs again soon. It’s so nice to have someone who is local & consistent for when we are away as a whole family.

Danielle was amazing!! She stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. She provided regular updates and photos via text. It really put us at ease knowing we had a sitter that cared about our pups. She left the house spotless which was an added bonus. We have already rebooked with her for our next trip Thank you Danielle

Megan was absolutely wonderful during her six-night stay caring for our animals. We came home to happy, healthy pets, and it was obvious they were all very well looked after. Our rabbits and chickens received excellent care, and everything was clean and well maintained. She also did an amazing job caring for our rabbit, Marshmellow, who needed medication twice a day while recovering. She was excellent with his treatments, and thanks to her attentive care, he’s now completely healed. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our animals were in such capable and caring hands while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Megan again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable pet sitter. Megan took care of my two dogs, cat, saltwater aquarium, 11 chickens and 12 bunnies. Thank you, Megan!

Hannah was wonderful in guiding us through our first Rover experience. We were nervous leaving our two dogs with someone other than family or close friends for the first time and Hannah reassured us every step of the way. She took the best care of our girls and updated us everyday with pictures. It is very apparent Hannah cares for the animals she looks after. She was professional and respectful of our home. We would not hesitate to book Hannah for our future dog sitting needs.

Emma was attentive, coming for a meet and greet once we booked her. Our golden took to her right away. Emma sent a couple of pics while we were gone and everyone seemed happy then and when we got home. She remembered all the details. We wouldn’t hesitate booking Emma again. She was extremely responsive from start to finish.

About: Safety is my love language: safety that comes from structure, structure that is backed by deep philosophy and experience. Whether we're talking about emotional safety (a dog feeling secure and confident to interact with the outside world), or safety for other humans and other dogs, safety for me as a pet professional, and safety for the owners in the habits I'm encouraging the dog to inhabit, my service is based on safety above all because without safety none of us can thrive. I'm busy building a farm care business that expands across Canada. All my waking hours and some sleeping hours too are spent obsessing about pet care, as dogs form the center of this pet care philosophy. Continuing onwards in a concentric circle, cats are followed by other farm animals. When it comes to dogs, i work with treats to encourage a strong place command. Once the place command is clear, i know that any time the pup is off his cushion, it is time for a walk.

About: New to Rover? I’ve got a little welcome gift for you! 🎁🐶 Use my promo code BENC81459 and get $20 off your first booking when you sign up. About me 🙋‍♂️ 🐾 Structured, Loving, Caring and Attentive In-Home Dog Care ❤️ Hi, I’m Ben — a loving dog dad to three rescues: Jackson, Quincy, and Wee Jojo 💜 I work from home and intentionally keep my bookings limited to ensure every dog in my care receives focused, individualized attention within a calm, structured home environment. When your pup stays with me, they are integrated into my daily routine — not just “watched,” but genuinely loved and cared for. ⸻ 🛡️ Safety & Supervision Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. ✔ Fully fenced and secure backyard ✔ Dogs are always supervised while outside — never left unattended ✔ Baby gates installed for additional safety layers ✔ Separate feeding areas to prevent food guarding and manage allergies ✔ Dogs always kept on leash during walks I am experienced in reading canine body language and adjusting routines based on each dog’s temperament and comfort level. ⸻ 🚶 Adventure Walks & Enrichment We are fortunate to live near beautiful trails, including scenic adventure walks around Bell Lake 🌲💧 Walks typically range from 1–2 hours depending on your dog’s energy level and include: • Structured leash walking • Sniffing and mental enrichment • Lakeside and wooded trail exploration Adventure walks are always tailored to your dog’s energy level, personality, and confidence. In addition, dogs enjoy: • Supervised backyard play • Evening neighborhood walks • Calm indoor enrichment and rest time ⸻ 🏡 Home Environment My home is designed with dogs in mind: • Three-level home with ample indoor space • Six dog beds throughout the house • Sofas and blankets available for comfort • Flowing water fountains on multiple levels (filters cleaned and replaced regularly) • Heated home during winter months • Dehumidifier for clean, comfortable air Dogs are welcome throughout my home. ⸻ ❤️ Rescue & Anxiety Experience I have extensive experience caring for rescue dogs and managing anxiety, including separation anxiety. Growing up, my mother rescued and fostered dogs on our family farm. I was actively involved in their daily care and learned early how to nurture nervous or sensitive dogs with patience and structure. Today, I continue that experience with my own three rescues. ⸻ 💬 Communication I understand how difficult it can be to leave your dog. You will receive structured updates four times daily: ✅ Morning ✅ Afternoon ✅ Evening ✅ Before bed Each update includes photos, videos, and a brief summary so you always feel informed and at ease. ⸻ 📅 Meet & Greets I prefer to schedule a meet & greet before every first booking. This allows us to ensure a comfortable fit and gives your pup the opportunity to explore my fenced garden and interact calmly with my dogs. ⸻ 🌟 Final Note Providing a safe, structured, and loving environment is something I take seriously. I understand that trusting someone with your dog is a significant decision — and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. My goal is for you to feel completely confident in your decision, knowing your dog is safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. ❤️ 📆 DAILY ROUTINE I work from home five days a week, which allows me to maintain a consistent and attentive routine for the dogs in my care. Morning (6:00 AM) We start the day early with a structured walk to the nearby lake. The round trip typically takes around two hours, providing exercise, enrichment, and calm exploration to start the day off right. Midday Throughout the day, dogs enjoy supervised outdoor time in my fully fenced garden, where they can safely run, play, and explore. Dogs are always attended and never left alone outside. Evening After work, we go for a relaxed walk around the neighborhood before settling in for the evening. Throughout the day, dogs also have access to comfortable indoor rest spaces and enrichment activities tailored to their energy level. 🛡️ Safety & Wellbeing My home is a safe, structured environment, and the safety and wellbeing of both your dog and my own dogs is my highest priority. Because I work from home, your dog will never be left alone. I am present throughout the day to supervise, monitor, and ensure everyone remains comfortable and secure. My property is fully fenced, and all outdoor time is supervised to maintain a safe and controlled environment.

About: I have a passion for pets and years of experience - I've had my own cats, dogs, and rodents, and done a lot of petsitting, including long-term sits abroad. I'm currently accepting longer term (2+ weeks) sits in Halifax. I'll take care of your pet and home as if they were my own. I'm new to Rover so don't have reviews here yet, but am happy to share my profile on Trusted Housesitters and AirBnb and to provide references. Je parle français aussi! Y un poco de español :) I work from home so will be there most of the day to give your pets the company, attention, and care they deserve. I can accept pets for boarding who are able to be on their own or rest quietly while I am in online meetings. My schedule is variable and I can schedule walks/drop ins/care in morning, midday, or evening hours. I have a small backyard and enjoy going to for walks to the nearby parks and trails. I can board small sized dogs in my home.

FAQs for House Sitting - Windsor

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Windsor on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 76 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Windsor. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windsor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windsor walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windsor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
