âChrish was amazing with Duke and took the stress of travel and leaving Duke behind seamless and easy. Lots of dog walks in the woods and cuddles on the sofa. Chrish sent regular updates and pictures and it was obvious he was a happy dog.â

âDanielle was amazing!! She stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. She provided regular updates and photos via text. It really put us at ease knowing we had a sitter that cared about our pups. She left the house spotless which was an added bonus. We have already rebooked with her for our next trip Thank you Danielleâ

âMegan was absolutely wonderful during her six-night stay caring for our animals. We came home to happy, healthy pets, and it was obvious they were all very well looked after. Our rabbits and chickens received excellent care, and everything was clean and well maintained. She also did an amazing job caring for our rabbit, Marshmellow, who needed medication twice a day while recovering. She was excellent with his treatments, and thanks to her attentive care, heâs now completely healed. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our animals were in such capable and caring hands while we were away. We wouldnât hesitate to book Megan again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable pet sitter. Megan took care of my two dogs, cat, saltwater aquarium, 11 chickens and 12 bunnies. Thank you, Megan!â

âHannah was wonderful in guiding us through our first Rover experience. We were nervous leaving our two dogs with someone other than family or close friends for the first time and Hannah reassured us every step of the way. She took the best care of our girls and updated us everyday with pictures. It is very apparent Hannah cares for the animals she looks after. She was professional and respectful of our home. We would not hesitate to book Hannah for our future dog sitting needs.â

About: I have experience with dog sitting a dog with anxiety and able to give medications. Also have experience feeding dogs raw food. Plus I have two Huskies of my own that I raise from puppies. I have experience with taking dogs for walks and to the dog park where they can be themselves. I'm currently looking after one dog occasionally when the person goes away. So I have alot of time in my day to look after other animals. I own two Huskies but my partner can look after them when I'm away. I always put the dog safety first and make sure they are not getting in anything they shouldn't. On a walk and I see another dog coming I will pull over to one side and let the dogs pass. If you have a dog with anxiety, I will listen to there body language. When they say it's enough it's enough. I will leave or turn around and go home. If they need to decompress I will give them time to do that.
âEmma was attentive, coming for a meet and greet once we booked her. Our golden took to her right away. Emma sent a couple of pics while we were gone and everyone seemed happy then and when we got home. She remembered all the details. We wouldnât hesitate booking Emma again. She was extremely responsive from start to finish.â

About: Safety is my love language: safety that comes from structure, structure that is backed by deep philosophy and experience. Whether we're talking about emotional safety (a dog feeling secure and confident to interact with the outside world), or safety for other humans and other dogs, safety for me as a pet professional, and safety for the owners in the habits I'm encouraging the dog to inhabit, my service is based on safety above all because without safety none of us can thrive. I'm busy building a farm care business that expands across Canada. All my waking hours and some sleeping hours too are spent obsessing about pet care, as dogs form the center of this pet care philosophy. Continuing onwards in a concentric circle, cats are followed by other farm animals. When it comes to dogs, i work with treats to encourage a strong place command. Once the place command is clear, i know that any time the pup is off his cushion, it is time for a walk.
About: Hi! I am a Law student at Dalhousie who would love to help with all your pet-related needs. I love going on long walks, hanging out in parks, and spending as much time as I can outside - which would be even better with a dog (I am missing mine from home)! I grew up with a small poodle in my family for most of my life, alongside lots of other pets (hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, hermit crabs), and just adopted a puppy with my family at home, so I am happy to look after a pet of any shape or size! I am also comfortable administering medications (oral / injected) through experience caring for my family dog in her older years. I live in a house of 4 animal-loving students, with a yard and located just a block away from The Commons and close to some off-leash dog parks, so your pet would be able to make lots of visits to play! I can accommodate up to two dogs, but would prefer to look after just one pet (cat/dog/other) at a time to provide maximum care and attention. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions :) Iâm a full-time student, but am very flexible around classes. I am free Monday afternoons, Thursday mornings and afternoons, and flexible Friday and on weekends, and I would love to care for your furry friends during these free times! As I typically only accept one pet (or household of pets) at a time, I aim to give my greatest attention to your pets to ensure their safety and happiness! I want your pets to feel at home, even in my house, so they are welcome to make themselves comfortable wherever they feel best.
âLyne is a wonderful person and an incredible dog sitter. I would highly recommend her to care for your dogs. My dogs love her and I feel relaxed knowing she is giving them such love and care when I have to be away from them.â

About: I grew up on a farm and raised every type of animal you can imagine Ole MacDonald had! That included various sizes and breeds of cats and dogs as well. Often I would take one of the larger farm animals, train it and then leash it so I could walk it around the farm as though it was a puppy I was training! In terms of what I can offer to you as a sitter and what I believe sets me apart is my genuine curiosity about what makes your pet tick and what their emotions are. I care about their big picture. It's not just about going to your house and then feeding/watering/walking. It's about time spent with your pet so I can let you know that all seems well with them, in their time of missing you. I do short notice and can easily do last minute house checks or pet visits without much notice as well. I hope to be adding occasional doggy daycare as well and that too, can include short notice. I am trustworthy and you can count on me to be your righthand, if something needs your attention or calls you out of town. My main work focus is pet care so there is often availability. I've finished up my main career and now, am semi-retired and lucky enough to get to do what I love and that is pets and adventures. So don't hesitate if you need help quickly. I'm there for it. The best compliment I have ever received upon the arrival home of a repeat client was when she said, "The best part about entrusting our pets with you (6 cats and a large dog) is that when we walk through the door (I am gone by then as per their wishes) no one comes running to the door to see if it's us, because with you here, they didn't even know we were missing." I will admit, that felt great because if it were my pet, I would constantly fear that they were pining away for me and frankly, that thought would detract from my vacation. With petsitting in your home or even drop-in visits, your directive is key. I will follow your instructions to a T so that you don't have to worry and so your pets have the least amount of stress, in your absence, as possible. I will ask for written instructions so there is no confusion. I will be as communicative as you desire. That could mean a pic and a note every day or no communication period. Whatever works best for you. If house-sitting, rest assured you can have full trust in my ability not only to maintain your house and pets but also to manage any issues/emergencies you may have. I've often babysat sump pumps and waatched temperatures for freezing conditions so as to switch thermostats from heat pump to furnace. Any little tidbit I can help with, I'm there.

About: Hi! I'm Beth! đđť I've spent my whole life (nearly four decades!) with pets, and have been petsitting for family, friends, and neighbours for many years. Pet care is something I'm incredibly passionate about...so much so that I volunteer weekly at the SPCA. đśđą I'm confident with many personality types, comfortable with animal cues and body language, and familiar with obedience and training techniques.đđť My primary goal is for your pet to feel safe and secure with me in your absence...whether it's going for a little adventure, cuddling on the couch, playing on the floor, or simply providing a peaceful presence, I'm committed to giving your pets my undivided attention...and quite probably a silly nickname! đ I have cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments; small animals ranging from birds to hedgehogs to chinchillas to aquarium species; and have spent my fair share of time caring for farm animals, as well! I am able to administer medications and cater to any special diets or other requirments necessary for the healthy care of your pet. đžđž I look forward to connecting with you so we can further discuss how I can help! đ I accept bookings 7 days a week for house-sits! *I am currently taking bookings up until June 26th, as I will then be away until September.* Trust is essential, and providing you with peace of mind is of the utmost importance to me. I always follow owner's routines for feeding, walks, medication, playtime, and comfort. I provide consistent attention, maintain cleanliness, and send regular updates to ensure pets (and pet parents) feel safe, happy, and secure!

Today, I continue that experience with my own three rescues. ⸝ đŹ Communication I understand how difficult it can be to leave your dog. You will receive structured updates four times daily: â Morning â Afternoon â Evening â Before bed Each update includes photos, videos, and a brief summary so you always feel informed and at ease. ⸝ đ Meet & Greets I prefer to schedule a meet & greet before every first booking. This allows us to ensure a comfortable fit and gives your pup the opportunity to explore my fenced garden and interact calmly with my dogs. ⸝ đ Final Note Providing a safe, structured, and loving environment is something I take seriously. I understand that trusting someone with your dog is a significant decision â and I donât take that responsibility lightly. My goal is for you to feel completely confident in your decision, knowing your dog is safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. â¤ď¸ đ DAILY ROUTINE I work from home five days a week, which allows me to maintain a consistent and attentive routine for the dogs in my care. Throughout the day, dogs also have access to comfortable indoor rest spaces and enrichment activities tailored to their energy level. đĄď¸ Safety & Wellbeing My home is a safe, structured environment, and the safety and wellbeing of both your dog and my own dogs is my highest priority. My property is fully fenced, and all outdoor time is supervised to maintain a safe and controlled environment.

Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windsor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windsor walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windsor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sittersâs profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Roverâs reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
