About: I've had adopted dogs my entire life. In my teens and 20s I worked as a kennel attendant and vet assistant at a busy suburban veterinary clinic. In my 30s I started fostering and adopting senior and special needs dogs. This gave me a very strong understand of how to effectively manage a variety of medical challenges such as: congestive heart failure, chronic eye ulcers, IBD, luxating patella, blindness, anxiety, dog reactivity, resource guarding etc. While I am certainly not an expert, I've done a lot of obedience, behavioral and sport (scent, barn hunt) work with my own dogs. This has improved my ability to adjust and adapt to each dog's unique style. In addition to all of this, I worked for a global animal welfare organization for 13 years and developed a strong understanding of the biological needs of all animals with a specific focus on companion animals. I work from home so I will always be with your dog. If I am required to be out of the house they will be cared for by my very dog savvy parents who live on the property. I live in a beautiful rural setting. The property is approx. 1 acre, 3/4 of it is fully secured fencing suitable for even the smallest dog. Your dog will have free, supervised access to the house and to the yard which has extensive gardens. If it's appropriate they will be walked daily - the beach is very close and there are countless trails. If I am dog sitting in your home, I will provide the same level of care and routine as if you were there.

“Austin was incredibly friendly, responded timely and took the best care of Penny. He answered all questions had, shared check-in updates and ensure he knew how to keep Penny at ease. Thank you so much Austin, would highly recommend and will reach out again!”

About: I love dogs, I’ve had dogs all my life. I currently have a golden retriever named Stella. I’ve taken care of family and friends dogs while they’ve been away I’m currently working full time out of the house in Stratford Monday to Friday 8-4. By staying at clients homes I’d be able to do potty breaks before work and after when I’m at your house for the night. I have lots of cat and dog experience, my dog is crate trained so I’m experienced in crating dogs depending on clients preferences. Detailed instructions appreciated to ensure a smooth booking with your pets

About: Hi! I’m Tina. I grew up on a farm so I’ve taken care of plenty of dogs and animals. I have one Great Dane of my own that loves making friends and gets along with all dogs she meets. We’ll devote our attention to your furry family member and make sure they’re safe and have a great time while you’re away! I’m home full time, so have lots of time to play with the pups. The longest time your pup would be without my attention is three hours, specifically on Sunday mornings. I don’t have a yard, however we go on a minimum of two walks per day so your pup will get plenty of exercise and stimulation.

About: I have years of experience fostering and petsitting for dogs and cats of all ages and levels of care. Through these experiences I have developed a deep understanding of their unique needs and personalities. Volunteering at my local Humane Society with small animals has further enriched my ability to provide compassionate and attentive care. I'm dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for your beloved pets, ensuring they feel happy and loved in your absence. I work a full time seasonal job May to October so have scattered availability through those months and full time availability onwards from mid October to mid May. I care for all animals as if they were my own and will provide my undivided attention to fulfilling their needs. As a pet parent myself, I understand that no one knows what works best for our animals better than their owners and will follow all guidelines and procedures exactly as they are set out to make sure that both you and your loved one(s) are comfortable and have a positive experience.

About: Hello there! My name is Maria, and I am a RPhT in London. I work part-time at Victoria Hospital, and would love to help out other pet owners in my spare time. I know it can be so stressful having to leave our babies all alone for long periods of time, but with me you can rest assured that they will get their daily dose of exercise and nurturing.<3 I have owned both dogs and cats, so I understand the unique and special care deserved of each and every pet out there. Also, as a health care professional that loves animals I understand that you are entrusting me with the care of your loved ones. This is something I do not take lightly, and that I swear to do whole-heartedly. That also means it takes a lot to stress me out or surprsie me when it comes to caring for living critters. I've seen it all be it human or pet, and can roll with the punches. I am fortunate enough to have my own car, so I am very flexible when it comes to schedule. Just let me know which time works best for you and your furry family member, and I will be there. I can't wait to meet you and your lovely pet(s) soon!

About: Hey, I got my start in dog training with my puppy, Hugo, a highly driven Australian Shepherd. I kept running into challenges, and it felt like our relationship couldn’t improve. So, I decided to take an extensive six-month dog training apprenticeship at NobleK9. After that, I worked as a kennel tech, gaining even more hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I’m a balanced dog trainer, which means I use a mix of reinforcement and clear structure to help dogs become well-behaved and confident! Now, I offer private training and dog walking in Kitchener, focusing on real-world results that make life easier for both you and your dog. If you ever have any questions, I’d be more than happy to have a chat! 😊 The great thing is my schedule is very flexible, so feel free to reach out to arrange a meet and greet! Usually I’m either training dogs or walking them! I worked at a dog training facility so I am very knowledgeable in dog body language and how to keep them safe and happy on walks/visits.

About: I've been caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes for about 10 years now. I’m reliable, patient, and someone you can trust with your pets. I’m also physically fit, which definitely helps when handling bigger dogs, and I’ve got great situational awareness to spot potential hazards and keep them safe. I work remotely and set my own hours, which gives me the flexibility to care for your pet’s needs. However, I only take bookings that are at least a week long. Shorter stays just aren’t practical for me since I have to move all my work equipment and essentials each time. Plus, I always leave the home spotless when I’m done, and that level of care makes more sense for longer stays. I have a solid understanding of animal behavior, which helps me recognize standard personality traits and make your furry family member feel at ease until I earn their trust. I'm also knowledgeable about community pet regulations and have basic training in animal first aid, ensuring I provide safe and responsible care.

About: I became devoted about caring for animals beginning with dogs. My Grandmother owned 3 Boston Terriers that I loved to walk and play with. I did this for a 13 year period of time. I learned how to look after multiple dogs who had very different personalities. I learned to feed, groom and walk them at the same time. My grandmother mentored me how to walk them with little to no issues, brush their teeth, feed them and cut their nails. She also owned a Finch which I also helped take care of when I visited. My own pet was a Bunny. Buggsy was with us for 10 years. Rabbits are very unique in their needs and I learned a lot caring for him. He was very loved and cared for, not caged and I know it was for this reason he lived such a long happy life. I also owned two beta fish at different periods in my life and they both lived a very healthy 3 and 6 years. One my most favourite experiences was spent at the barn with my friend who owned a thoroughbred horse. For approximately 7 years, I was fortunate enough to spend many hours at the barn learning to ride as well as grooming and feeding the horses. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience as the barn also had cats, kittens, bunny’s, dogs and sheep. I hope to one or multiple of these animals one day. I am a calm, patient, and compassionate person. You can rest a sure that your fur baby, water baby or feathered friend will be taken care of in a kind and gentle manner. What ever time you are away, you can do so with peace of mind :) I am a Student of The University of Toronto. Monday to Thursday, I have 2 classes a day with a 2 or 3 hour brake between classes. I have Friday's off and I am available to home/ pet sit on weekends (including during the week if you will be away on holiday) to pet walk/ pet sit at your home. I will follow instructions laid out for me by you, the pet owner. I will carry out routines as closely to your pets usual day or as per instructions. If there should be an emergency I will follow your emergency instructions or depending on the circumstance will call an emergency vet clinic. What ever your pet needs or special instructions you can be assured I will follow your wishes.

About: I run a private pet sitting business outside of Rover. I don’t have many ratings on here because most of my business comes from people who know me, and word of mouth. I’m happy to provide references. I recently lost my 14.5 year old husky and I loved him more than anything in the world. :( Animals are so special and they deserve the best care. I have a lot of experience with senior dogs. I left my life and job in Toronto just to move my dog back home to the farm where he was the happiest, and I’ve spent the last 5 months just taking care of him. Your pet won’t just receive mediocre care with me, they will receive the BEST care! There is lots of space for them to run around outdoors and beautiful trails for us to walk, but I will of course keep them on a leash unless otherwise specified by the owner. I understand the anxiety of leaving your precious pet with a stranger. I am an overprotective animal parent, and all your requests will be adhered to. Your pet will never be left unattended. They will be cared for the entire time. The fear of something happening to your pet while you’re away is everyone’s worst nightmare, but rest assured , I am aware of signs to look for in an emergency. I will contact you right away, and will have no issues taking them for immediate care. Your pet will be in the best hands possible, I can assure you of that :) I am currently not working due to the loss of my pet, so all of my time will be dedicated to your pet. :) I will be starting to work every other weekend at the end of March, but other than that, I am open. I will only do drop in visits, or walking in London, because I go there often, or within 15 minutes of where I live, unless you are ok with paying extra for gas. I couldn’t adjust my settings to accommodate this unfortunately. I think I covered most of this in my pet care experience paragraph, but I live on a big farm. I have a decent sized dog crate here if needed/preferred, but I’m happy to have your pet inside with me, or to visit your home. I put a $50 drop off/pick up fee, as I wasn’t sure what the distance would be, but I am open to discussing rates for this depending on distance.

Josey K.
“Incredibly responsible and reliable dog sitter. Amazing, huge, and secure yard with lots of spots for dogs to rest and explore. I would not hesitate to leave any dog including those with any medical or special behavioural needs with Josey; she had decades of experience with her own dogs and foster dogs, and great judgment when it comes to dog interactions and socialization. She goes above and beyond for her own dogs' medical and behavioural needs, and puts their well being above all else. Your dog will be well taken care of and treated like family!”

“We had such a positive experience with Shannon. She was incredibly reliable, communicative, and truly went above and beyond to make sure Brody felt comfortable and loved. It was clear they paid attention to Brody's individual needs and routine. We felt completely confident leaving our boy with them and will definitely be continuing to use her services.”

Maria L.
“I went away for 2 weeks and had Maria take care of my fur baby and my apartment. I've never left my little Minou with anyone, so it was a little nerve racking. She came over the day before I left, and made a great connection immediately. It was very comforting to see how well they responded to each other. She kept me updated with playful videos and continuous communication. I returned to a very happy kitty. I lucked out with finding Maria and would absolutely use her services again.”

Caitie M.
“Caitie took care of my dog Bambie for a weekend and was absolutely amazing - she sent me photo updates and kept me in the loop with how she was doing the whole time. She has such a love for dogs its so refreshing to know that my money is being well spent on someone who knows how to care for dogs properly. I now have Caitie walk Bambie 3x a week and it was the best investment I made - with caitie being a dog trainer I believe by default she is training bambie too I noticed bambie walking better on leash even with me. I couldn't say enough good things about her and her services - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

Rebecca B.

“Rebecca was excellent! Very professional, followed instructions, and communicated well. Highly recommended!”

Chirak "CJ" K.

“CJ took very good care of Cooper! Daily updates and pictures were so nice to see and it was clear Cooper loved being with him. Thank you CJ for caring so much for our big baby.”
