“Irene is the absolute best. My family left our dog, Sherlock, for a resort vacation. Little did we know we left Sherlock at a resort as well! Irene went above and beyond to take care of Sherlock. He had a lot of anxiety for the first hour, but Irene took care of that, making sure he felt comfortable and safe. She took him on walks, used games to keep his mind occupied and gave him lots of love! Irenes house and land is perfectly set up for dogs to explore and enjoy. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Sherlock was being loved and enjoying his own vacation!”

“My dog loved it! He came back absolutely exhausted after a weekend with Anuja. She sent some adorable updates throughout the weekend. Would for sure book again. Thanks for taking such good care of our fur baby!”

“Extremely thrilled with the care Cassie provided for my boy. She was very easy to communicate with and accommodated my specific requests. Her premises is set up perfectly to keep any dog happy and healthy.”

“Tracy was just as expressed in her add. A wonderful dog lover. She has her own little Shaylee, and grandchildren who are very gentle with dogs. Maggie was happy to be there and well cared for. I received texts and photos about her stay.”

“Our dog Juno stayed with Jordana for 23 nights. That amount of time can be nerve wracking for any dog owner. Jordana’s excellent communication and dedication to Juno really put us at ease. She was extremely professional, caring, and gave great updates. I did a lot of research to find the right person - and I’m glad I went with Jordan’s. Highly recommend her! Thanks Jordana for taking such great care of Juno.”

“Kathryn was super helpful and communicative with last minute changes that I had. She went the extra mile to do a meet and greet before the stay. She sent daily updates and I felt totally comfortable with Nala staying there! Would 10/10 recommend. This was my first experience with a Rover sitter and my dog is super timid but Kathryn gave her the attention and space she needed to finally warm up!!”

“Murray & paddi Very make me feel comfortable to leave my dogs with them . They keep me updated by sending pictures, they also very well responsive .Very nice Peapole and i will definitely recommend them on anyone . Thank you !!! =)”

“Anna provided exceptional care for Myles. She was diligent in walking him daily and consistently sent updates with photos during his stay. It was a wonderful experience, and I'll definitely book again.”

“We left all four of our dogs with Erin, it was the first time leaving them outside of our own home and it was an excellent experience for everyone and all the dogs. She provided photos and updates without asking for them, they were very happy and comfortable at her house and loved running around in her big beautiful yard. Erin even managed to take them all for a walk. We would definitely rebook with Erin, she is fantastic!”
“Michelle and family welcomed Winston and took such amazing care of them! I really appreciated their attention to detail and their updates throughout Winston’s time there. We are so grateful they were able to have Winston over for the weekend and will definitely request to book with them again in the future.”

“All I can say is that my experience with Nicole was beyond what I expected she took time to make sure my dogs were safe and loved while I was working in Calgary, so if you need someone who really cares about your dogs don’t think twice o totally recommend Nicole and for sure I’m going to leave my dogs with her from now on.”

“After only 4 short days, we walked into Brent & Belinda's back yard and our own dogs forgot we existed. Our only worry about leaving our dogs here is that they aren't going to want to come back home...”

“I don’t think there’s enough words to describe how wonderful and caring this family is. From the very beginning, they went above and beyond by meeting with us the day after we booked so that our dog could get to know them and feel comfortable before his stay. Throughout his time with them, they treated him like he was part of their family. He enjoyed multiple walks every day, plenty of attention, and so much love and affection. It was clear from the updates and photos that he was happy, relaxed, and well taken care off. Their kindness, communication, and genuine love for animals truly shines through. We came home to a happy, well-loved dog. You’re an incredible family! 🐶❤️”

“Diane is the best dog sitter that ever existed! I can’t say enough good things and am so glad I left my old man Dexter in her care. The only reason to possibly give a bad review is so she won’t be all booked up when my dog needs her”

“I’d prefer to keep Riley a secret as he’s one of the best humans I know and is absolutely the best fur baby sitter on the planet. I am incredibly grateful as always to be able to travel with piece of mind knowing my Gnocchi is being cared for with such love and compassion. Simply the best. ♥️”

“Cindy and Sean are my go to sitter for my pups. They always provide me with lots of photos and updates on my boys and make me feel safe and secure leaving them with them. I can tell my boys love their stay. 100% will book again.”

“Indy loves her visits with Nicole and is always so excited to get dropped off there. Photos and updates show us she’s treated like one of the family, and we couldn’t be more relieved to have found such a warm and caring sitter for our funny old pal!”

“It’s my first time leaving my dog for a trip and Robin is so nice! Always keeps me updated and makes sure he eats well and enjoy his stay! She even potty trained him 😄 Highly highly recommend!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
