“So good with my pup! She was struggling with separation anxiety. They were confident on how to help her through her struggles and kept us updated throughout the weekend on how she was doing and what they were doing to help her. Would recommend 100%.”

“Cassandra took excellent care of my 2 year old labradoodle, Remi. She sent me photos to let me know what my puppy was up to. Remi enjoyed the backyard and new friends. Would definitely book again.”

“She did an amazing job taking care of my dog. Her own dog was so friendly with my pup, I think it enhanced the care given. I got my pictures too in a timely manner. My dog was very happy and tired”

“Despite the last minute for booking, Harleigh was there for the call. She and along with her 2 dogs were very kind to Havanese pet, Buddy. She was vere kind and caring. I will definitely ask Harleigh again because of her immediate responsiveness.”

“Very friendly, very accommodating, absolutely pleasurable to communicate with, had a very lovely home and was very amazing to our pets!! amazing care of them and kept us updated!! “Choosing Gloria was the best decision for my little dog's 7-day stay! The thought of being away from Zelda was very stressful, but meeting Gloria a few weeks before the stay made all the difference – I immediately felt much better. During Zelda's stay, Gloria was fantastic about sending quick, reassuring updates and pics whenever I needed them. When I picked Zelda up, she looked wonderfully cared for; she looked happy and even had her topknot perfectly brushed. I will be using Gloria's services again in the future and definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful dog sitter.”

“It was our first time ever using Rover or any type of dog sitting service for our 14 year old little Yorkie. Lucky for us we connected with Kathy through Rover. She was absolutely amazing! We were so worried how Belle would make out with a complete stranger but Kathy made her stay so comfortable that there were absolutely no issues. Kathy sent us some pics and updates throughout the weekend which was nice to see how well Belle was doing. I will definitely be bringing Belle back to stay with her new “auntie Kathy” :) I would not hesitate in recommending Kathy.”

“I am super happy with Kristina’s service! I truly recommend her! I had a last minute trip and needed someone to take care of Sully, Kristina was very responsive and she was able to meet our needs. Sully had a great time at her place and she and her family took great care of him! Thank you very much!”

“Natalie and Niranga welcomed scout into their home with lots of outside time and cuddles. They had good communication and sent lots of photos/videos of scout. He had a blast playing with their dogs and looked very comfortable and happy”

“I had a great experience using Lesa’s pet sitting services. She was responsive to messages, worked very well with scheduling, and provided quality care to my dog Wally. She made me feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with her even though it was the first time. I wont think twice before requesting her again:) Thank you Lesa!”

“Melina and her family have watched scout 3 times now and he has been excited to go every time. Communication is always great and they provide such a safe and loving home for scout when they have him”

“I greatly appreciated Helena’s fast response to my last minute request for pet sitting. Her house is well set up for dog boarding and my dog was immediately at ease. Her dog Max was friendly to our dog and I could see they were going to have a fun visit together. Heena made sure to get the details about our dog’s habits and our wishes. There was a long lead and clothesline to allow the dogs to explore and play outside. It will be a great off lease area once the final piece of fence is installed. Heena was a pleasant host with whom I felt confident leaving our 2 yr old dog.”

“Jenn and Mark were very kind & welcoming ! Sky made herself roght at hone exploring the new sights and smells in tgeir fenced backyard. We received frequent updates and pictures showing all the fun Sky was having with their dogs Frida & Hazel. She even got to go on an adventure to their camp! Our energetic girl came home happy & exhausted ( love that haha). We very much reccomend Jenn & Mark's and sky cant wait to be back !”

About: I’ve taken care of big dogs and little dogs for friends and family for many years. I have made sure their pets are walked, fed, bathed and have had tons of love while in my care. I work from home so am able to make sure the dogs in my care get lots of attention through the day and are walked daily as well We have a large unfenced yard perfect for play and also go on long walks daily. My dogs are crated at night so would prefer dogs who are crate trained. We have a loving home with lots of attention and play
About: I’ve lived with pets almost all my life. I enjoy their company and make sure they feel loved and enjoy every moment of their lives! I can support your needs to walk or take care of your pet! As a pet owner, I know that sometimes is very difficult to get a sitter and that is why I decided to join and help others! I have a fenced yard, and a sweet boy to give your pup a furry friend to play with. I will make sure your loved one feels like home away from home!
About: I had cats most of my life and a dog for 6 years (all rescues, all now deceased). I am a mature, reliable and caring 58 year old with a post-graduate degree and have chosen to dedicate my retirement to animals - pet sitting, volunteering, and animal advocacy work. I have a wide open schedule as I am retired with very few commitments. I love animals and want to dedicate all my available time to caring for them. I will spend time petting, playing, and feeding your fur baby as well as cleaning up after them. I'm also happy to water plants and take in mail or any other reasonable service that may be required.
“We were very happy leaving Tango with Frances. We knew she would be treated like one of the family, and from the photos we received throughout her stay, it was very obvious she was in great hands. I would definitely ask Frances to care for Tango again - anytime we need a sitter. We loved the rural setting for her and felt that Tango enjoyed a bit of a holiday of her own, while we were away for a family gathering. Thank you, Frances!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
