About: Hi there! I’m Carlie! 👋 I've been a pet owner my whole life, which has given me a genuine love for both dogs and cats. I’ve had the joy of training playful puppies and even fostering several at once, focusing on potty training and behavior. I particularly adore dachshunds and other small breeds—they truly have a special place in my heart. Cats are just as important to me, and I know how to give them the care they need. Whether it’s playtime, feeding, or just some quality snuggles, your feline companions will be in great hands. I’m also a nature lover, so I enjoy taking long walks in the afternoons and evenings, ensuring your pets get plenty of exercise and fresh air. You can trust that your pets’ happiness and well-being will always be my top priority! I’m a freelance commercial photographer and I make my own schedule which leaves lot of free time during my day to look after your fur babies! I use pet friendly candles + air fresheners and cleaning products. Providing enrichment toys for safe play time, as well as socializing with other dogs outdoors.

About: This is our first time getting on Rover but both my husband and I are pet parents and frequently pet sit for a number of friends and family when they travel. I’m an experienced pet parent with two dogs of my own, aged 5 and 6. They’re very friendly and loving and I am very familiar with the care, routine and attention dogs need every day. I understand that every pet has their own personality and comfort level — I am happy to follow your instructions closely to make sure they’re happy and settled. Your pet will have plenty of space and attention with me. I live in a house with a fully fenced yard, giving dogs some space to play and get some fresh air. It’s a non-smoking household and because I live with my husband and mother-in-law, someone will always be home and your pet won’t be left alone for longer than 20 mins if at all. I’m comfortable providing them with regular walks and potty breaks. My dogs are given pee breaks every 4 hours and two walks in the morning and at night right before we sleep. I’m also comfortable with maintaining consistent feeding schedules, playtime, and providing oral medication (what’s not in the list is obvious but I’m also great at cuddles and companionship). My goal is to make every pet feel like part of the pack when staying with us. I work a full time job but I’m mostly remote (I’m lucky). So I’m home throughout and able to give pets plenty of attention and regular breaks. My own dogs are already part of my daily routine with walks, feeding, playtime, and endless cuddles built in. On the rare occasion that I need to go into the office (like once a month but it’s very rare), my husband is home and helps care for the dogs. He is an equally attentive and loving pet parent so your fur baby will have someone around them to keep them safe, loved and cared for. I know how important it is to feel confident that your dog is in a safe space. I have used rover to find sitters for my dogs too and it’s a top priority. Is the house truly dog friendly - no slippery floors, food lying around, chocolate wrappers, sharp edges… I scan for the little things. That is the exact level of attention I put into my home to make sure my dogs (and yours) are comfortable. I live in a house with a fully fenced yard so dogs can enjoy some outdoor time without having the risk of them wandering off. Our home is non-smoking and you can be sure that someone will always be in the house with the dogs, at all times. Before a stay, I’m happy to learn about your dogs routine, personality, feeds, comfort level, and any special instructions so I can keep their experience as familiar and stress-free as possible. I’m also very mindful of introductions between dogs so I can make sure every pet feels comfortable and has the space they need. Most importantly, I want you to have complete peace of mind when you’re away. So if you like, I’ll keep you updated with messages, photos, and videos (I personally like these) and follow your instructions carefully to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and right at home.

About: Hi Pet Owners; NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS I am an elementary school teacher by day and a dog walker/sitter by night. Dogs are and have always been my passion. For many years, I have provided daily care for pets while their owners were away, and took responsibility for routine duties (walks, putting out fresh water, cleaning litter boxes, etc.) while owners were at work. I understand that life gets hectic, so I like to support pet owners by vacuuming pet hair in the house, and bathing and grooming their fur babies. In the past, I have watched and walked anxious dogs. My philosophy is to use positive reinforcement to encourage dogs to display more acceptable behaviours, more frequently. I am fully available to attend to all of your animal's needs starting Friday night until Sunday, holidays and extended stays over the summer. Please check my availability as my summer is filling up. I live in a condo in Bowmanville. The building has a large courtyard where your dog can interact with other dogs if they like dog interactions. I also live close to several trails and safe roads with sidewalks. In my neighbourhood, there are many schools with large fields where I can take your dog to exert their energy.

About: If my animals could speak they would tell you they need alone time lol. They are never alone. Our house is a revolving door of our family coming and going. I am home every evening and weekend. Finding the "time" to add this to my life won't be difficult. I enjoy walking my own dogs every night so adding additional walks to my weeks is something I look forward too. My hours of availability for dog walking are : MONDAY TO THURSDAY: From Approximately 530 pm on. FRIDAYS: From approximately 130 pm on. I can crate your fur baby upon request, but otherwise I wouldn't. I love to walk and love going to the trails. I prefer not to go-to any dog park unfortunately.

About: Hi there! My name is Sam! I have been caring for cats and dogs professionally since 2019. I have always been an animal lover, from slimy and scaly to soft and fluffy. Every animal deserves tender love and care, especially while their family is away. It can be scary for pets when their family is away and I understand how a gentle, patient and calm approach can ease that discomfort for pet parents and their pet. Safety is my number 1 priority and I’m a big believer in loss prevention, meaning the pets I care for are always secured. Never off leash or in areas that could be a potential danger. I also understand that animals have mental and physical enrichment needs, I aim to stimulate their brains as well as get them moving physically. I have an almost 9 year old dog named Toby, he is a shih tzu mix. I have been caring for dogs and cats professionally since 2019 so Toby is happy to share his house and backyard with friends! I ask that your dog is dog friendly to ensure that both pups are happy during the stay. I also have a 9 year young cat, named Phoebe. She is comfortable with sharing her home with dogs that are happy to give her space. Even if your dog hasn’t been around a cat before I’m happy to do a trail and see how your pup responds, some dogs can be easily redirected and we can make it work! Some dogs have a higher prey drive so redirecting can be harder. A meet and greet prior to a stay will be important to ensure all parties are comfy! I do work a full time job. My days are typically opposite to my partner, so your pup will never be home alone long :) Safety is my number one priority with every animal I care for. I cannot imagine what I would do if I lost either of my pets. Our backyard is fully fenced and I check often for imperfections such as holes in or under the fence. Your dog will always be on leash while out and about, even if your pup has great recall I will never let them off leash unless in a secure area, such as a dog park or other fenced in area. We use long lines on hikes to provide the off leash experience.

About: I have not only taken care of my own dogs since i was a child but I have also taken care of family and friends dogs for many years. Dogs are special and have my heart. I am currently not working and have the time to spend with your fur babies so they have some company when waiting for you to come home I will be happy to come to your home where you're fur babies feel safe and let them out to use the bathroom and spend a little time with them and make sure they're having a good day

About: Hi there, My name is Jena. I am a female 30 old who lives in Bowmanville. I work in the education system and enjoys her summers off. During the summer I love going for long walks to the beach or the forest and exploring. I figured why not bring along a dog with me :)! I grew up with big and small dogs and cats. I previously use to live in Pickering and used Rover while I was off in the summer and loved it! I figured I’d try it out in my new city and explore the area. In some of my photos you will see my family dog Teddy who is a German shepherd and Golden retriever mix as well as Pica who is the small dog mix with pug and unknown! These animals are not located with me, they are with my family. Pet care is easily fire into my schedule because I am off for the summer as I work in the school board. It provides me flexibility I make sure I read all instructions, care and expectations for the animal I am caring for. I will make sure the dog is safely walked, watched for and cared for. I ensure the spaces I am in are de cluttered and carefully watch for anything your pet may want to eat!

About: I'm not as new to professional pet caring now, but I'm constantly learning and I have respect and love for animals. I have cared for pet dog and cat from puppy to old age and I am always learning from experts on how to handle most situations that will arise. I am able to be extremely active and engaging with animals to ensure they are properly stimulated and socialized. I take my job very seriously as a guardian of a pet myself I know that they are as much family as pet. I will always take special care to listen to a pet's guardian's advice on how to care for their pet so that they are properly taken care of as they deserve and expect to be treated. I’m currently self employed and mainly work at night when my dogs are asleep. During the day I am free to look after not only my dogs but also other people’s pets as well. When I’m not working I’m often taking care of my dog’s needs. I follow instructions from pet owners and ask about their pet to find out what kind of care they need. I work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which gives me flexibility for drop-in visits and walks. On those days, I’m available early mornings (before 8 a.m.), during my lunch break (12–2 p.m.), and after 4 p.m. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I offer evening walks. Weekends vary depending on my schedule, but I keep my calendar up to date so you’ll always know when I’m available. I’m happy to accommodate different schedules whenever possible! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. During drop-in visits, I follow your routine closely—whether that’s feeding, playing, giving medication, or providing potty breaks—so your pet feels secure and cared for in their own space. For walks, I always use secure leashes or harnesses, avoid unsafe areas, and keep a close eye on your dog’s behavior and energy. I’m also experienced with reactive dogs and know how to create calm, positive walking experiences. I treat your home and your pet with respect, as if they were my own.
