“My kitties needed play time, and medicine while I was on holiday. Victoria was SUPER with them. She even tidied up my house, which was a huge help, as I left a mess to catch my flight. I got pictures & updates twice a day, & prompt responses. Highly recommend & will book again.”

“Hope is an AMAZING pet sitter. She took incredible care of our dog and cat while we were away. It was evident through the pictures she sent throughout our trip that our animals were comfortable with her. They were often seen with their bellies in the air or on her lap. Additionally, they looked happy and healthy when we came home. We will absolutely book with Hope again. Thank you!”

“Paige was amazing for housesitting our dogs. She arrived on time, was asking all the right questions and sent us frequent updates throughout. We would love to have Paige dogsit again!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over three years now. My longest stay has been with two dogs for 21 days. There’s nothing in this world that I love more than spending time with pups, so I’d love nothing more than to care for your dogs, however long you need me! I don’t have a job in the summer so I have lots of time, I usually workout in the morning at 7:30 and then usually have something early afternoon, but I’m never away for longer than 2 hours. I’m big on dog love, the more they learn that we can trust each other, the smoother we will get along. However much care your dog needs, I’m willing to provide!
About: I grew up with dogs (I currently have two large breed dogs) and I’ve also been a volunteer at a dog adoption center for most of my life. I have lots of experience with dogs of various ages, temperaments, and breeds. I have also volunteered at an animal hospital and have assisted with shelter vet visits. I am currently a Cegep student studying to be a veterinary technician so I have lots of availability to walk and play with your dogs ! Since dogs all have different needs and behaviours I will do my best to adapt to whatever will make your dog happy ! I will follow usual schedules in order to keep your dog comfortable and will provide lots of love and care as if they were my own :)!
“Omg! They are just the best! Good thing I received pictures with the dogs because my house was so spotless, I could have tough they never live there haha!! Me AND 100% my dogs too recommend them! Everyone in this house preach for them ❤️”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have watched after family and friends pets. It brings me such joy and I would love to care for yours as well I have flexible hours and my adult daughter lives with me. She helps me with my dog and cat and so there is always someone here to take care of your furry friends I have a single-family home on the West Island. We are corner house with lots of green space. I do not have fully fancy yard, but live next to a park and love to go for a long walks

“This past Christmas break was my first experience with Rover and Charmaine. It was easy, simple and I never had a worry knowing Westley was being well cared for if I could give 10 stars I would. Charmaine is lovely and was a pleasure to communicate with and have in my home to look after Westley. I will definitely book Charmaine anytime I can when we are away.”

About: I’ve always loved the way dogs bring joy, personality, laughter, and comfort into everyday life. Caring for them comes naturally to me, and I put a lot of intention into making sure each dog feels safe, relaxed, and understood. I love creating a calm, comfortable space for dogs to settle in. I take the time to learn each dog’s routine, quirks, and comfort level so they can feel cared for and at ease. I’m patient, observant, and committed to following the guidelines you set so your dog feels right at home. Here’s what your dog can expect: • A peaceful, comfortable environment • Gentle attention and affection • Walks, playtime, and enrichment based on their energy level • Consistency with your rules and routines • Clear communication and regular updates My goal is for your dog to feel secure and happy — and for you to feel completely at ease while they’re with me. I work from home, so your dog will have company for most of the day. I’m around and attentive, which means plenty of companionship, playtime, and regular trips outside whenever they need a break. The only day I’m typically out of the house is Thursday, but I make sure pets in my care have everything they need before and after I’m gone. My home becomes your pet’s home while they’re here. Dogs are welcome to relax on the couch or curl up in bed—unless you prefer to keep those spaces off‑limits, in which case I’ll happily follow your rules. I also have a spacious backyard that’s mostly fenced, giving dogs room to explore and enjoy some fresh air. Plus, I live in a great area for walks, with several parks nearby and a couple of lovely dog parks for pups who enjoy social time and extra exercise.

About: I love meeting new dogs. No matter what type of dog it may be, it makes my day:) I go on walks with my own dog every day to get his excercise in and love cuddling and socializing with him. I would love to do that with other dogs and have them meet my friendly chocolate lab! His name is Murphy and he loves to meet new friends. I have been dog sitting for neighbours for many many years now, even pet setting other types of pets as well! I used to have a cat and I love cats just as equally as dogs. This is so exciting for me to be able to do. Feel free to contact me whenever to pet sit for you! Sincerely, Avery

“Aniruth is a good sitter. he cared for Sherloque for the entire day and took him for a walk. He did everything that he promised and what a good sitter should do. I highly recommend Aniruth”

“Lisette is a very vibrant and passionate sitter, and it really shows that she cares about what she does. Missy can be anxious when I leave and Lisette was gentle, attentive and affectionate with her, clearly took the time to make Missy feel comfortable and secure. I returned home to a calm and relaxed cat and a happy dog. I really appreciated the kindness she showed my pets and would gladly book with her again.”

One of our cats had a new medical condition develop during the trip and she promptly noticed, let us know and took him to the veterinary to address the issue. She was extremely present and responsive during this stressful time. We appreciate her work so much and would recommend her to anyone! Thank you Megan, we will never forget your help during our time away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Beaconsfield
Hope was great with our cavapoo, Freddy. Prior and during our trip, Hope was very responsive and provided pictures and updates which assured us since this was the first time we left our dog with a stranger. Hope is an obvious animal lover and was even ready to spring to action when Freddy got sprayed by a skunk. She handled the situation like a pro. It is also worth noting that she left our house in impeccable order. We would be very happy to have Hope house/pet sit for us in the future.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Beaconsfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Beaconsfield walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Beaconsfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
