About: *** I am away until May 20, 2026. My calendar has been updated to reflect my availability from May 21 to August 12, 2026. - Since September 2021, I have been providing loving care to dogs as a dedicated Rover sitter. - Growing up, I looked after our family dog and cared for our cats as a teenager. - In my twenties, I loved owning an extraordinary dog, a blend of Chow Chow and German Shepherd. *** I am away until May 20, 2026. My calendar has been updated to reflect my availability from May 21 to August 12, 2026. As a part-time English tutor working from home, I have many breaks between classes, giving me plenty of time to care for your beloved pet, which I will treat with the same love and attention I give my own. My schedule is flexible. When I'm not teaching, I volunteer weekly in the city, and with enough advance notice, I can adjust my schedule to care for your dog. I reside in a second-floor, private-entrance, 1-bedroom apartment (3 1/2) in a peaceful, walkable neighbourhood. I have a portable A/C that I turn on on hot days, and I will make sure your dog stays cool. I have plenty of room in the apartment for your dog to lie down, and they can use my bed to rest.
“Omg! They are just the best! Good thing I received pictures with the dogs because my house was so spotless, I could have tough they never live there haha!! Me AND 100% my dogs too recommend them! Everyone in this house preach for them ❤️”

About: I love meeting new dogs. No matter what type of dog it may be, it makes my day:) I go on walks with my own dog every day to get his excercise in and love cuddling and socializing with him. I would love to do that with other dogs and have them meet my friendly chocolate lab! His name is Murphy and he loves to meet new friends. I have been dog sitting for neighbours for many many years now, even pet setting other types of pets as well! I used to have a cat and I love cats just as equally as dogs. This is so exciting for me to be able to do. Feel free to contact me whenever to pet sit for you! Sincerely, Avery

“This past Christmas break was my first experience with Rover and Charmaine. It was easy, simple and I never had a worry knowing Westley was being well cared for if I could give 10 stars I would. Charmaine is lovely and was a pleasure to communicate with and have in my home to look after Westley. I will definitely book Charmaine anytime I can when we are away.”

About: I’ve always loved the way dogs bring joy, personality, and a little bit of magic into everyday life. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, and it’s something that brings me so much happiness. When your pup stays with me, they’ll get attentive, loving care tailored to their needs. I’m patient, calm, and observant, and I make it a priority to understand each dog’s unique routines and quirks. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and slow-to-warm-up, or a seasoned senior who prefers a gentler pace, I meet them exactly where they are. Here’s what I offer your dog: • A safe, comfortable, and relaxed environment • Plenty of affection and positive attention • Walks, playtime, and enrichment based on their energy level • Consistency with your rules and routines so they feel secure • Clear communication and updates so you always know how they’re doing My goal is for your dog to feel happy, understood, and cared for — and for you to feel completely at ease while you’re away. I’m excited to meet your pup and give them the same level of kindness I’d want for my own. I work from home, so your dog will have company for most of the day. I’m around and attentive, which means plenty of companionship, playtime, and regular trips outside whenever they need a break. The only day I’m typically out of the house is Thursday, but I make sure pets in my care have everything they need before and after I’m gone. My home becomes your pet’s home while they’re here. Dogs are welcome to relax on the couch or curl up in bed—unless you prefer to keep those spaces off‑limits, in which case I’ll happily follow your rules. I also have a spacious backyard that’s mostly fenced, giving dogs room to explore and enjoy some fresh air. Plus, I live in a great area for walks, with several parks nearby and a couple of lovely dog parks for pups who enjoy social time and extra exercise.

“Megan was an amazing cat sitter during our long trip (30 days+). She took great care of our two cats, and provided updates with pictures. One of our cats had a new medical condition develop during the trip and she promptly noticed, let us know and took him to the veterinary to address the issue. She was extremely present and responsive during this stressful time. We appreciate her work so much and would recommend her to anyone! Thank you Megan, we will never forget your help during our time away.”

About: I believe animals are always communicating with us, and I approach pet care by listening first and responding with patience and care. I have 12 years of experience with my own dog and have worked through reactivity, anxiety, fear of noises, and leash pulling using positive reinforcement. I have worked with multiple trainers over the years and have spent a lot of time learning about dog behaviour and psychology, which has shaped how I care for animals today. I pay close attention to body language and subtle cues like freezing, yawning, or disengaging. When a dog seems overwhelmed, I focus on helping them feel safe and settled by creating space, choosing calmer routes or environments, or redirecting them toward something grounding. With shy or nervous dogs, I always let them approach on their own terms and give them the freedom to take breaks or step away when needed. I also believe in balancing physical and mental stimulation. Along with fulfilling walks, I enjoy incorporating enrichment like sniffing games, confidence-building activities, and gentle training. These activities work well for high-energy dogs and can also help more nervous or shy dogs feel comfortable and confident. I have experience caring for large and small dogs, puppies, and senior dogs, as well as administering medication including pills, liquids, topical treatments, and ear drops. I am very comfortable following vet instructions and care routines, and I tend to be very organized and attentive to detail. Above all, I genuinely care about each animal’s wellbeing and individuality. I use patience, positive reinforcement, and observation as the foundation of my care, and I always do my best to make sure every pet feels safe, understood, and cared for. I’m currently a work-from-home professional so I am quite flexible time and space wise. I am available at virtually any time and can readily offer overnight care in your home while you’re away. With a persistent attention to detail, I frequently look out for when an animal is trying to communicate a need, such as them wanting water, to play, to eat, to be pet, etc. I always ensure they have fresh, clean water and that they are fed the appropriate amount and on time. I also like to spend quality time with them giving them belly rubs and and behind-the-ear scratches. I also look out for their safety by keeping things that might be dangerous out of reach as well as checking in on them frequently to make sure they are doing well :)

Over 5 pet parents in Kirkland have booked house sitting
Kirkland pet parents share their Rover experiences
We left our miniature Daschshund for 12 days for a trip and left him at our place, in Kirstie’s caring hands. It was the first time and most certainly not the last. I was a little concerned about leaving him for so long but Kirstie took such good care of him that our little boy has no trauma at all. She showed love and affection to him as if she was her owner. They played a lot which he loved. Kirstie adapts to your pet to make sure the experience is A1 for him/her and for you. The fact that his routine and familiar places didn’t change, was crucial. She regularly sent pics and videos so we had daily proofs of how he was. I recommend Kirstie 100%. Thank you for keeping our mind at peace Kirstie!
