“Vinny is very attached to me and it’s difficult sometimes to leave him, but I can tell he absolutely loved staying with Susan and Robin. He was very comfortable and relaxed when I picked him up. I 100% recommend booking with them if you need a sitter. Amazing people with amazing energy!”

“Doug and Janice are absolutely terrific! They are very caring and went out of their way to make our dog as comfortable as possible. We could not be happier.”

“Amy has been lovely to connect with. My dog is quite introverted and I was a bit nervous at first but Amy was able to put things at ease. My dog connected with her dogs quite well and it was lovely to see how well they’ve connected. I’ll be asking Amy for her help with dog day care and boarding more this summer for sure. If you’re considering having Amy help your dog, I think your dog would be in good hands.”

“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“Paula is amazing and has a great home with a large fenced backyard. She took care of our dog very well. She has an amazing personality and passion for caring for dogs and others. Our dog loved his stay and is excited for his next sleep over. Thanks Paula!”

“Marcy was great! First time using Rover and the experience was straightforward and painless. Our dog is on the anxious side but she looked calm and relaxed with Marcy. We got photo updates throughout the day!”

“Bentley had an excellent stay with Lauren and Andy with plenty of walks and no end of fun. It was easy to tell that he was enjoying himself because he got so tired and was ready to sleep at night without a problem. Lauren also sent us daily reports on what had happened together with photos and some videos and we were most happy to get the regular updates An excellent experience”

“Leanne was so wonderful! My pup felt safe and nurtured, and got lots of exercise in beautiful forest and beach areas. She was so great with communicating and sending photos. I knew what my boy was up to throughout the day. Highly recommend her as a sitter and your temporary dog mom while you’re away. So grateful to have her in our lives!”

“Our puppy had the BEST time with Lindsey and her family. We are so grateful for the care and love she gave him during his stay. Highly recommend and Murphy will definitely be back again! Thankyou Lindsey :)”

“Couldn’t ask for a better pet sitter than Sharon! She looked after my pup as though she were her own! Very attentive and caring. Beautiful accommodations to leave my pup with out any concern or hesitation. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a very friendly, safe and convenient place for your fur baby to holiday!”

“My dog Odis was well taken care of. When we came back after 2 weeks he was very happy and healthy. He became part of their family and fit in very well. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.”

“Tazzy had a great time staying with Jessica and I felt confident that she was being well cared for. Lots of texts, pics and videos sent to keep me updated on how things were going so I could relax, enjoy my trip and not worry about my fur baby.”

“Emma was amazing in watching our dog Junebug! Not only did she make sure our dog was fed and taken care of, but she went the extra mile! She took Junebug to the dog park on a regular basis, sent pictures and updates regularly. I can tell my dog was super comfortable with her and her family, and I would highly recommend her to any dog owner looking for a temporary home for your pet while you travel.”

“We were so happy with how Tyler took care of our dog while we were out of town! He's attentive and knowledgable, and you can tell how much he loves and cares for dogs by the thought and effort that he puts in to make your pup feel at home, even when they're away from home. We will 100% be using Tyler's services again in the future. Thanks again! :)”

I create a calm, predictable environment where cats feel safe and respected and I take time to read their cues and build trust at their pace. About: Hey! I’m a Veterinary Assistant with 4 years of experience working in clinic. This has taught me many valuable skills including post surgical / wound care, administration of various medications, dietary needs, and many other pet caring skills. I also have spent a great deal of time caring for my own elderly doggy who recently passed from cancer. This in conjunction with my training has given me a great deal of experience working with high need pets who require complicated care. I’ve also done some casual cat and dog sitting for family, friends, and coworkers. Since my own doggie passed I have been missing my pet time and thought this would be the perfect way to get my fix! :) This September I’ll be going into full time school, as a student I will need to be on the VIU campus for 2-8 hours daily on weekdays. I’ll be available for pet care before and after class, and all day on weekends. :) As someone who has worked with pets of all kinds with varying medical and physical needs you can rest assured that I will have both the skills and knowledge to give your pet the absolute best care!
“Doug and Janice are lovely. They checked in on my cats while I was away for Christmas and took care of feeding and medications (pills). I really appreciated the easy communication with them and will definitely reach out to them the next time I go away.”

About: I've taken care of cats and dogs for family and friends since my teen years. I regularly care for my sisters Siberian Huskies, so I'm familiar with high energy pets! I also have an elderly cat of my own that I love dearly who I've had her entire life. I am currently only working a few side-hustles so my schedule is very flexible to meet your pet care needs. Let me know your pets regular schedule and my aim will be to keep things as consistent as I can for their comfort. My goal is to keep your pets on their regular schedule while you are away so that they are as comfortable as possible. I am happy to provide regular updates and photos to keep you updated on how they are doing during my stay!

“I am so thankful to Karuna for caring so beautifully for my babies. She is a great communicator, takes lots of photos and asks great questions. I would book her again in a heartbeat- even my shy girl loved her right away. Thank you!”

“Amazing wonderful young lady! Being our first time using service, Rhaya made us feel beyond comfortable and at ease with leaving our fur babies in the most capable hands. Communication and keeping in contact during our trip was perfect! We will continue to ask Rhaya to babysit and highly recommend!”

I would definitely contact them again to look after the cats and would recommend them to anyone who wants their pets to be safe and comfortable while they are away.”

“Everything went great with Rana. She was very reliable and took excellent care of my cats while I was away. I was a little nervous to leave my boys only a few months after our big move to the Island, but Rana was very communicative with me and went the extra mile to ensure my cats were well looked after. This gave me great peace of mind. I would highly recommend Rana!”
“Dorothy is true gem. She took care of my cat (and for awhile, my dog) during a very chaotic and stressful time for me. She was very kind, and flexible during this unpredictable period. She sent pics of my pets to me everyday, which was so comforting. (She even found a toy that my cat, who doesn't "do" toys, seemed to enjoy.) Superlative pet care. Thank you Dorothy. I have no hesitation in recommending you in the highest terms.”

“We are very happy with Callie's time with Susan and Robin. Callie was happy and relaxed when we picked her up. We definitely appreciate their care of Callie and highly recommend them.”

“Karuna was fantastic. She provided updates throughout the day, which made me feel very comfortable leaving my pups in her care. They came home tired and happy, clearly well exercised. I really appreciated the photos she shared and would highly recommend her.”

“Amy was SOOO accomodating! And just a friendly and caring person overall. It was my first time using a pet sitter while on a road trip to Ucluelet and I decided to try squeeze in some whale watching. Amy accepted Zoey with 1 nights notice and even accomodated an earlier drop-off because I forgot to account for the 45min check-in time for the excursion. Amy sent text & pic updates. Zoey was very well taken care of & even got to enjoy an oceanside walk. :)”

“We all liked Courtenay right off the bat, especially Phoebe, and we felt very comfortable leaving Phoebe with her. We tried a two-hour sample stay first and that went very well so the full days that we needed puppy day-care were an easy transition. Courtenay made sure Phoebe was comfortable and busy so she didn’t have time to miss us, and her whole family was also involved so our little girl had a great time. We will definitely leave Phoebe with Courtenay again when needed ✨ thanks Courtenay and fam!”

About: Animals have been my passion and career for over 10 years. My background includes working in dog daycares, veterinary medicine, and animal control, giving me experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. As a stay-at-home mom, I'm home throughout the day and can provide plenty of attention, supervision, and care. I've welcomed many dogs into my home over the years and treat every pet like family. I currently have one dog and three cats, so my only requirement is that visiting dogs are social and comfortable around other animals. I look forward to giving your pet a safe, loving home away from home! As a stay-at-home mom to one child, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home. This allows me to provide plenty of supervision, attention, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day, ensuring your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. Your pet will be treated like part of the family while in my care. As a stay-at-home mom, I am home most of the day and can provide regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, medication administration if needed, and lots of attention. Dogs will have access to a safe, comfortable home environment and plenty of supervised interaction. “Alexia and her mom Shelley were absolutely amazing! My partner and I were visiting the island and wanted to do a whale watching trip. We knew we didn’t want to leave our dogs in the RV and decided to try to find someone to watch them. We thought it would be a long shot with such short notice and it being on a Sunday but began calling around. After reaching out to quite a few daycares in Nanaimo and Parksville and being told they were full I decided to try using Rover for the first time. I was super nervous but found Alexia and read the reviews and decided to message her. Alexia responded almost immediately and agreed to take both of our dogs for the following day. I asked Alexia a million questions and was worried about the heat wave and she answered everything with no issues and made me feel confident that the dogs would be in good hands. We dropped the dogs off the next day and were greeted by Shelley who was very kind. Shelley showed us where the dogs would be staying and we shared a few details with her as both our dogs had minor ailments at the time. After we left and were on the tour we received many pictures of our dogs from Alexia that were absolutely stunning and she provided us updates on their well being. We enjoyed our tour and weren’t worried at all. When we picked the dogs up you could tell they had a great time and despite the heat they didn’t seem too hot at all. Shelley even let us know that our one dog might have a bladder infection which helped confirm our suspicions we had as well. If we ever return to the island we would definitely reach out to Alexia again if we needed to have our dogs looked after.”

About: I’ve taken care of my own two large dogs since I was a kid. Helping with their training, playtime, walks, and overall care. I have also managed to recognize and provide assistance to my one dog who struggles with separation anxiety. I’m a very helpful being who’s observant, and present with each pet. Caring for each one in the puppy stage, all the way to their senior stages. I currently have plenty of free time and would love to help people in the community in finding trusted pet care for their furry ones. I’m always open to discussing days outside of my preferred ones as well. I live in a more semi rural area, allowing for loads of open trails and beaches to walk my furry babies and enjoy their playtime. While keeping them on a feeding schedule, and generally taking them out for breaks on a schedule as well. However I also recognize the signs my dog gives for his different needs.
“This was our first walk with Karuna and we are thrilled to have found her. She’s got such a lovely presence, and I’m sure our animals would agree. Our rescue dog can be very reactive to new folks, but Karuna is patient and understanding and he is quickly becoming comfortable with her. We really appreciate Karuna’s obvious experience and comfort level with both dogs and cats and are looking forward to more dog walking and house sitting with her in the near future. Thanks Karuna!”

“Natalie is amazing with dogs, including my 104 pound English Labrador, Duke. Her dog Kali is a sweetheart, very well trained, and our two dogs got along beautifully from the start. I’ve used Rover for many years in 3 different countries, and Natalie is one of the few 5 star handlers on my list.”

“Cristina was absolutely incredible. She was reliable, she communicated and planned in advance with me prior to the visit. Post visit she touched base letting me know how it went and sent pictures. I have a reactive dog on the leash and was nervous on how she would be. She was fantastic with both of my dogs. I would 400 percent recommend Cristina to anyone and will definitely be booking again.”

About: Hi! I'm Emily. I'm a psychology student living in Nanaimo with a lifelong love of animals and the outdoors. My favorite days are spent exploring local trails, beaches, and forests, and I'd love to bring your dog along for the adventure. I specialize in longer enrichment walks rather than quick neighborhood potty breaks. Whether your dog loves to sniff, hike, play, or simply enjoy nature at their own pace, I'll tailor every outing to their personality and energy level. Safety is my biggest priority. I'll only take compatible dogs on hikes, always keep a close eye on trail conditions and wildlife, carry fresh water, and send lots of photos and updates so you know your pup is having the best day. I'd love to meet you and your dog! I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to every pet in my care. I enjoy spending time outdoors each day and love incorporating long walks, beach outings, and forest trails into my routine. Whether your dog needs a quick potty break or a longer adventure while you're at work, I'm happy to work around your schedule and make sure they receive plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each dog's personality, routine, and any special needs before we head out together. I always use secure leashes unless you've specifically approved otherwise, carry fresh water on longer walks, avoid unsafe temperatures and crowded areas when appropriate, and never force dogs into situations that make them uncomfortable. I treat every pet as if they were my own and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how they're doing.
“Nicole has been amazing! It was my first time using a dog walker for my boy and she did wonderfully. Lots of messages to coordinate and enjoyed our interactions. By the last visit my dog was waiting at the door for her vehicle to roll up ❤️”

“We had an amazing experience with Angela! She walked our two big, somewhat challenging dogs six times and did a fantastic job every single visit. Her communication was excellent, she was reliable, and she handled our dogs with confidence and care. We’ll definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, skilled dog walker. Thanks, Angela!”

I'm currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups. I am free almost every afternoon and evening. Weekends after 1pm and Tuesday to Thursday I'm available all day. I am happy to come to your home to care for your pup, or take her for her walks. My yard is fenced, but my cats are territorial so I couldn't invite your pups over.

“Tazzy had a great time staying with Jessica and I felt confident that she was being well cared for. Lots of texts, pics and videos sent to keep me updated on how things were going so I could relax, enjoy my trip and not worry about my fur baby.”

“Amazing!!!! I could tell Charlie felt so welcomed and loved for his stay. I will definitely leave Charlie with Kelly and Natalie again. In fact he’s already booked!”

“Highly recommend Karuna for all your pet sitting needs she treats your pet like her own and is very reliable and attentive! She always leaves a detailed update and photos so your trip remains stress free. I would definitely recommend her services! 11/10”

“We felt so lucky to find these folks during a last minute shuffle of our plans for pet care for our dog, Maxwell. We were overwhelmed, running out of time, and stressed for our high energy breed. It was our first experience with a pet sitter and with Rover - and we were so happy with Coraline. We had a chance to meet and have a long discussion about our dog’s needs, and her calm reassuring energy helped us make a really good decision. Max had a great time, and from what I can tell he came home calmer & more grounded than when we left him (and of course we returned calmer!) it really felt like I got a better dog when I came home. We are super happy to have someone Max really enjoys being with if we ever find ourselves taking another trip without him!”

About: ❇️ I pay close attention to animals in my care, I'm always looking out for their safety and well-being. I only host one or two dogs at a time so things stay calm and comfortable. This lets me focus on each dog and make sure they feel relaxed and cared for. My goal is simple: help your dog feel safe, happy, and at home — and give you complete confidence that they’re being well cared for. ❇️ Boarding - Bookings are available most weekends of the year from Friday evening to Sunday evening. ❇️ Dog walking - I'm available for dog walks most mornings and evenings throughout the year. ❇️ Day Care - I have daytime availability during July and August + winter/spring breaks + all stat/bank holidays. I work for the school district full time September-June. ❇️ I have a fully fenced yard, and space in my home for crates, bowls, and toys. Safety is important to me. If you have any concerns, or if your dog has special needs, please provide details prior to drop-off. I want to ensure your pet has a fun and happy stay.
“Millie loved staying with Jody and the fur gang! Jody took such loving care and they had loads of fun! We got videos of walks and play and hangout time. We felt very assured that Millie was in great loving care with Jody!”

“Lily loved spending the day with Rebecca and her two pups! Rebecca asked all the questions and sent me updates through the day and was super flexible with my booking. I would book with Rebecca again!”

About: I have been actively petsitting for 2 years and looking after pets is my true passion! I have experience caring for pets in their own homes, where they can stay comfortable and relaxed in their familiar surroundings while you’re away. I’m newly accepting clients on a limited basis for petsitting in my own home, I can accept 1 dog at a time and they must be friendly with other dog, and cats. I have 1 dog and 2 cats. I have a fenced yard & lots of areas for walks. For overnights in your home, I am choosing to only do a few per month now, so spots will be a limited and based on what is the most compatible, so please give information about your pet, expectations & any medications when requesting a booking. 😊 My overnight stays are evening-to-morning, meaning I typically arrive around 5–6 PM and stay overnight until the morning. Some days I may arrive a bit after 2 pm, depending on my schedule! During the daytime, I am generally away for approximately 6–8 hours, working at my job, so this service is best suited for pets who are comfortable being home alone during the day/used to working pawrents!🐾 Once I am there in the evening, I’m happy to give them their dinner, potty breaks, yard playtime, companionship, and whatever care is needed as part of their normal routine. Dog walking is not something I offer at this time, so having a yard for your dog is a requirement for overnight care. If this sounds like a good fit for you, feel welcome to reach out! 🐾❤️ During the day, I am either doing check ins or working at my job. I am always around in the evenings & overnight when I’m doing in your home petsitting. Please take note that I am unable to accommodate pets that require someone at their home 24/7. Whether it’s multiple daytime check ins, or an overnight petsit, I’ll treat your pets like family, with patience, kindness, and lots of love. I’d be honored to be part of their routine and help give you peace of mind when you’re away. 🐾
