Thanks to a new law signed by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper on June 5th, Colorado pet sitters can continue to run their business on Rover as they always have.
Rover takes pride in helping pet parents connect with trusted sitters that will treat their dogs like family, but Colorado state law hadn’t caught up with Rover’s technology. Thanks to forward-thinking elected officials that were willing to engage in an open conversation with the community, Colorado passed a law that serves the needs of pet parents, allow sitters to pursue their passion, and—most importantly—protect the wellbeing of pets.
Prior to the law’s passage, in-home pet care in Colorado faced more stringent regulations than in-home child care.
Today, pet parents are free to pursue pet sitting services that fit their busy lives and pet sitters can continue to use Rover. That’s something we can all celebrate!
