Pet Sitting in Thunder Bay

About: I have grown up with dogs in my house and taken care of other animals on our farm. I love dogs and will take excellent care of them when walking. I am a student at Lakehead University and will have plenty of time in between my classes and sports to walk your dog. I have open time throughout the day and I am very flexible with walking time. I have a fenced backyard and can easily keep care of your dog. I can run with your dog if you want them tired for when you get back to them.

“My wife and I were very happy with Jodi. We were out of town for a week and she took care of our 2 cats. She was on time for their breakfast and dinner feedings. She cleaned the litterboxes as directed and washed the cat dishes. She spent quality time with the cats and provided us with detailed updates and pictures. Highly recommend.”

About: I've been an animal lover my entire life and have spent hours volunteering at the TBDHS, along with pet sitting and walking my neighbour's dog! I have my own, high-energy dog (Ellie, husky-German shepherd mix) from Northern Critters in Need. Some activities that I do with my dog (and neighbour’s dogs) are hikes, bike rides, the park, and more. I'm used to large dogs pulling occasionally! I also have two cats (Trix and Roux), who are also rescues. Roux is the sweetest cat that flops when you pick her up (kind of like a ragdoll cat), and Trix will talk (meow) at you when she's ready for your attention. While volunteering at the TBDHS, I would do basic care (feeding, brushing, playtime, etc.) and take the dogs for walks and socialize with them until they found their forever homes! I love going for daily walks with my dogs or my neighbour's dogs! I'm available in the afternoon and evening primarily, but can make exceptions for morning and nighttime as well. Since having large and high-energy dogs, I am very used to an active lifestyle. When I take them on hikes, walks, and bike rides, I'm used to them pulling on the leash when they are overly excited. I can (usually) calm them down by patting their chest-area or continuing on our way if necessary.

“I have known Felipe for 10 years when he came to stay one year with us as an international exchange student to study his grade 12 year. We remain in close contact and I consider Felipe to be a good family-like friend. I helped him get a job in Canada. Felipe loves life, loves people and loves animals. He is a most gentle soul. I would highly recommend him as a dog-walker.”

“Kelsey has cared for my dog, Mango, on numerous occasions and she always does a wonderful job. Mango is 2 years old and is pretty high energy and Kelsey makes sure she has plenty of exercise by taking her on walks. Kelsey has cared for Mango for up to a week at a time and I never have to worry as I know she is taken care of and loved. I highly recommend Kelsey as a dog sitter.”

“I've known Kassandra (Kassie) for over 20 years and she's a very kind and loving mother to her son, and a wonderful pet owner. Kassie takes very good care of her animals, her home, her yard and her vehicle. Kassie is kind, patient and friendly to everyone she knows. Sadly her dog, Lilly of 12+ years old had to be put down just recently due to a serious illnesses. “Jason is great! He cat-sat for me for 2 months as I had to be out of town for a short-term contract job. It was important to me that I had someone reliable and communicative since I was gone for a while. Jason always made sure to update me on how my cat, Ollie, was doing and would send me pictures to show me as well! Ollie is a bit adverse to new people, but took to Jason fairly quickly and got very comfortable with him. Jason made sure to keep up with Ollie's feeding schedule and other routines. Overall, Jason is a very dependable and caring pet sitter and I highly reccomend him for your pet sitting needs!”

About: I’ve grown up with all kinds of animals, basically since day one. I’ve cared for family and friends’ dogs, cats, and small animals of all types and ages! I am currently a student working part-time, and I spend most of my time at home with my own cat. My balance of school and work has left me with a little spare time on my hands, which is of course devoted to my kitty for now! Experience with both pet sitting and babysitting has given me experience with caring for a live dependent in someone else’s home. I am flexible to heed any instruction and preferences that the owner has, whether watching the pet in their home or my own.

About: I’ve had dogs for 20+ years, while I lived with my parents we fostered Australian shepherds and in 2015 I adopted one of our fosters. Her name is Olive. As well I have a cat and his name is Korin. I love having animals at home with our kids. I’m currently on maternity leave so my schedule is quite flexible. My son starts school from 8-12 so anything outside drop off and pick up times are the best for me and the baby I have a lovely fenced in yard for my girl, I love playing with our animals and lots of snuggles are always had in our home.

“We booked Steph for drop in kitty care visits while we were away over Christmas. We could not have asked for a better cat sitter!! Steph stayed with our kitty for longer than the 30 minutes daily that we paid for. She sent updates and pictures daily. Litter was scooped, cat was fed, treats and cuddles were given. Steph went out of her way to clean up litter that our cat had kicked all over the floor - she vacuumed and our house looked cleaner when we returned than when we left! I am so happy to have found a cat sitter in the city I can trust. I will be rebooking with Steph.”

About: With a lifetime immersed with pets, I am comfortable around both cats and dogs. Whether it be their early weeks to their senior years, I will be there when you can't and care for them the same way I would for my own animal. I will ensure they are being cared for up to your standards and clean up after them if necessary. I have no issue with small or large animals as I grew up and cared for two gentle giants. I'm very familiar with all stages of animal life, from the puppy/kitty stage to their last years. I am currently a university student who is not working, which means I have plenty of free time. My university schedule is very flexible considering I am completely online. I am frequently having appointments, and I reflex that as best I can on Rover. Please let me know if you need care on a day I am unavailable and I can see what we can do! Please let me know if there is anything specific that your pet needs. From inside to outside the house, I will care for your pet and make sure they are safe. Depending on how you do things, I will take care of your pets how you'd like.

“Adrienne is the best dog person I know. She absolutely loves dogs. Her labs had the best life ever. She has looked after my dogs when I had to travel and I never had any worries about them. I knew they were happy and safe with Aunty Adrienne. She’s the best person to care for them when I can’t. On the downside, my dogs seem to have a difficult time leaving her. I suspect, to them, it’s rather like a visit to an indulgent gramma.”

About: I've been professionally pet sitting and dog walking for approximately seven years. References available upon request. Senior care is my specialty! If the snout is grey, they get their way. I'm currently a student who is able to do all of her work from home. I spend my days with my senior Rottweiler and his younger sister, a yellow lab. I am grateful for a flexible schedule that allows me to meet new pups and spend time with them. I have a fully fenced yard and two friendly pups who are excited to make new friends. My two-bedroom apartment allows for a spare bedroom, should your pup need extra space (or a queen size bed to themselves).
