Frequently Asked Questions
Rover and Gudog share the same mission: To make life better for dogs and the people who love them. We can make an even bigger impact together. This union will make it easier for pet parents to get trusted care for their dogs, for pet sitters to connect with more dog owners nationwide, and most importantly, for dogs to get the best possible care.
All Gudog owners and sitters are invited to activate their profiles on Rover, which can be done with just a few clicks. You'll still be able to manage existing bookings on Gudog, but we encourage you to manage your business on Rover—that way, all your info will live in one place. After July 29, 2025, you can continue creating new bookings on Rover, but you will no longer be able to create new bookings on Gudog and will be redirected to complete the booking on Rover. Within a few months, the Gudog site and app will be retired, but pet parents and sitters will be welcomed to Rover. You'll still be able to access your Gudog information—including your history, messages, and any upcoming bookings—by logging into your profile on Gudog, where you will then be taken to a Rover Landing page to complete the migration. All your Gudog profile information will then be published on the Rover site.

Using Rover is very similar to Gudog, but there are some differences. Once you activate your Rover account, Rover will send you a series of emails to get you up and running. To learn more about using Rover, we recommend checking out the Rover Help Center.
For Sitters: The Sitter Resources Center also has great information for both new and experienced sitters.
To get you started, we've also created some videos to show you how to make adjustments to your profile.
1. On the activation day, you will receive an email from the Gudog team. Click on the link and get redirected to https://www.gudog.com/login. You can also click the banner 'connect accounts' on the top of the website or app on activation day.
2. Enter your Gudog email and password if prompted.
3. You will get redirected to a landing page where you will be prompted to agree to Rover's Terms of Service.
4. That's it! Your Gudog profile - including all of your existing reviews, messages, and bookings (past, pending, current, and future) - will be published automatically to your Rover profile.
Your Gudog profile will be inactive. Starting July 29, 2025, you'll no longer be able to create new bookings on Gudog and Gudog will redirect to Rover.
Within a few months, the Gudog site and app will be retired. Effective July 29th, pet parents and sitters will be welcomed to Rover.
You'll no longer be able to access your Gudog profile on Gudog’s site or apps. However, you'll still be able to activate your account on Rover, which will include your information from your Gudog account.
