Consistency helps reduce stress and keeps the pet feeling secure. I always ensure doors, gates, and windows are securely closed to prevent escapes, and I double-check locks before leaving the home. I keep harmful items such as cleaning products, small objects, or unsafe foods out of reach. During walks or outdoor time, I stay alert to surroundings and use secure leashes or harnesses as instructed. Cleanliness is also very important. I regularly clean food and water bowls, refresh water daily, and keep litter boxes or living areas tidy. This helps prevent illness and keeps the home environment healthy for the pet. I pay close attention to the pet’s behavior, appetite, and energy levels to quickly notice any changes that could signal stress or health concerns. If I observe anything unusual, I communicate promptly with the owner. Above all, I treat the owner’s home with respect and their pet with patience, kindness, and responsibility. My goal is to make the pet feel comfortable and cared for while giving the owner peace of mind knowing their home and companion are in safe, trustworthy hands.

About: I have had dogs for most of my life from big to small and know that they are an important part of your family. Having recently lost our 2 border terriers I find myself missing the pleasures of having a dog around the house. I would love to care for your dog during the day when you are unable to do so. I am now retired and have the time to give your dog the attention it needs, from long walks, cuddles and chill time. You can be rest assured that you beloved pet will be looked after. Being retired means that I can look after your dog five days a week and I am available from early in the morning until late in the evening. I live a large town house with a back garden that the dogs can use, they will have the lounge, utility room and garden at their disposal. I also live 2 minutes away from Connaught Park where I will take them for walks as well as other nearby walks.

“Emma was a wonderful dog sitter. We booked for for a 5 night stay in our home while we were on holiday, caring for our 2 rescue French Bulldogs. After doing a couple of intro sessions, we had every confidence in her, and we weren't wrong. The dogs were unsettled by the change, only 2 months after we adopted them. We had builders in. One of the dogs has a medication regime and both dogs have personal care regimes to be followed. The dogs challenged Emma with chewing things in the first couple of days, and she took absolutely everything in her stride. She sent us photos, looked after the house, left it clean and tidy and had even stripped her bed when we got home! We can see for ourselves how well the dogs look, so we know Emma has really looked after them with their cleaning and medication. We'd have Emma in the home again without hesitation, and recommend her highly to others.”

As a child , our house was filled with dogs (Jack Russells, Border Collie and Labradors, not all at the same time), horses, budgies, tortoises and even goldfish, so caring for animals comes naturally to me. I’m calm, patient and confident with all kinds of pets, and I understand how important it is for dogs to feel safe, loved and relaxed when they’re away from their owners. Whether your doggie requires companionship, regular walks or simply keeping to their routine, I will give every dog the same care and attention that I’d want for my own. I’m retired and at home all day, so your dog will have company, attention and a calm, settled environment. My home is quiet and relaxed, which makes it especially suitable for nervous dogs, older dogs or those who simply enjoy a slower pace. There are countryside walks on my doorstep and the beach isn't too far away if you don't mind me taking your dog there. I live on a quiet road with a small, secure fenced garden where dogs can relax safely. Countryside walks are right on my doorstep, giving every dog plenty of fresh air, gentle adventure and a peaceful change of scenery. 🐾 My Experience Animals have been part of my life from the very beginning. I grew up in a home full of pets — dogs, budgies, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, you name it, we had it. Later, when I married, we had a succession of Dobermans who were very much part of the family. Our last one sadly passed away two years ago, and caring for other people’s dogs now brings me a lot of joy and purpose. Until three years ago, I lived with my mum, who worked as a professional dog sitter and walker, and we also had four dogs of our own. This gave me plenty of experience with different personalities, routines and care needs. I am now a proud cat mum, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, patient and attentive to care for your pet. I will treat every animal as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while in my care. I work from home Mon-Fri, which gives me plenty of flexibility to fit pet care into my daily and weekly routine. I can work from the pet owner’s home, allowing me to provide regular company, feeding, playtime, walks and attention throughout the day. I would just need access to a reliable internet connection while I work. I would only care for pets in their own home, where they can feel safe and comfortable in familiar surroundings. I will carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication and their usual routine. I will treat the owner’s home with respect, keep doors and windows secure and provide regular updates for reassurance. As I work remotely, I would need permission to connect to the home’s Wi-Fi.

About: Derek and I have only ever had rescue dogs, not puppies. We appreciate they have had a rough start and need time and patience and lots of encouragement to feel safe and comfortable. We have do looked after multiple friends dogs over the years and have decided that we could help others to have a decent break/work/holiday knowing that their loved furry friend is in capable, safe care. We have rescued older dogs as they get overlooked. We have had to house train kenneled dogs - it’s been a challenge!! But worth it 🤩 I am currently available daily and will have plenty of time with your doggo. My husband works from home so there is always someone around. Walks in our local woods and playtime on the garden will be frequent. Chill time is also important. Dogs are allowed on the sofa so will feel welcome if that’s their thing😊 We have a secure fenced garden. We have a 13 year old Parsons terrier- Steve - he is chilled and loves dog company. We have a lovely wooded walk close by which is shady on those hot days. I will be happy to send pics/ updates of your pooch as often as you feel will be helpful to ensure you are also happy your dog is happy 😊 we can arrange that when we meet. Our home becomes your pets home for the duration of the stay. We will discuss your preferences so that we can maintain the routines/ boundaries that you have in place for your dog.
