All Gaucho restaurants are dog-friendly between 12-6pm, so pop your pooch on lead and head down to this legendary Argentinian steakhouse chain’s Manchester offering. Come the weekend, you and your dog can enjoy DJ-hosted brunches and roast dinners. What’s not to love?

6. Mowgli Street Food

Mowgli is dog friendly. I love the European model of restaurants that welcome the family in its entirety The hope I have for Mowgli is that we behave like a humble homely eatery that embraces you AND the ones you love. With tiffin tins overflowing with the kind of fragrant, mouth-watering fare you’d find at homes and street stalls in India, the simple and authentic menu at Mowgli is a million miles away from the stereotypical British curry house. The chain’s Manchester restaurant was the second opened by dog-loving founder Nisha Katona, who has an MBE for services to the food industry, and our four-legged friends are welcomed there with open arms. They are part of the family, after all, and Mowgli prides itself on being a homely eatery where people can fill their hearts and bellies alongside those they love. With the charitable arm of the altruistic restaurant raising more than £1million for good causes to date, eating there is not only good for the stomach and soul, it helps make the world a better place, too.

‘Kebab’s worth sitting down for’ is its slogan, and this unique dog-friendly restaurant has certainly transformed the image of the humble late-night snack for beer-laden lads. There are no sloppy doners here, just florally-adorned works of open kebab art brimming with scrumptious fillings including crispy chicken, tikka masala salmon and tasty tenderstem broccoli. There’s plenty for non-kebab fans, too – including a meze menu and mains including surf and turf. Stop by on a Wednesday, and you’ll get bottomless drinks for £29.95 with the purchase of two courses. Just warn your dog that they’ll need to help get you through that Thursday hangover.

There are also plenty of pubs and bars serving up delightful grub where four-legged friends are more than welcome, so you may also want to check out our round-up of Manchester’s 10 top dog-friendly boozers, too. But not all dogs enjoy dining out—and that’s fine. Some venues can get quite busy in the evening so Fido might prefer to be tucked up in bed if the surroundings are too loud. If you love going out to eat but your dog prefers to stay at home, don’t worry, we’ve got you! You can find lots of local sitters who provide dog boarding in Manchester on Rover.com, so your little buddy has some company while you enjoy a night on the town.
